This app is great! This controller is awesome! I picked this one over the others because you get a cloud account to check/adjust temp from anywhere with an Internet connection. You can save cooking sessions in your cloud account too. It runs on battery or plugged in. You have a food & grate thermometer as well as the ability to control your fire temp with the drive cable connected to a fan with an adaptor. I’m so happy I made this purchase. I cooked all summer with it and it never let me down. It stays connected to my WiFi 65ft away through a few walls. I love it!

Please fix. I can’t change the temperature of the pit any longer. From any of my devices.

Overall good, but could be great.

Overall I love the FireBoard and the app. It could be a 5 star app if it had an iPhone widget and a watch complication. The watch app is kind of a pain to get to all the time. If there was a complication that I could put on the face when I’m cooking, it would be so much easier and faster to open the app to check temps. Other than that I can’t think of anything else that bothers me about the app at the moment.

Hardware and Software Rock!

Wasted money on other gadgets to monitor my temps when I cook/smoke. This is the real deal. The hardware works great, easy to use setup. Once setup using each session is as easy as turn on, open app and set temps. It’s easy as it gets. App has now added ability to include photos and notes to each of your sessions, which are saved in the cloud. The thing with smoking it’s a little experiment and all consistency to keep making great food. This helps in that endeavor. Two things I’d love is a Apple Watch app to view temps. And not a biggie but in future models should use USB C plug to charge. Micro USB’s time is sun setting and USB C is taking its place. Keep up the good work FireBoard, so I can keep making dynamite BBQ!

Not working

Love the app when when selecting the dashboard graph dragging along the graph does not show relative temperature.

Fantastic!

Easy to set up and has been logging and reporting flawlessly. Wish every app worked this well! Keep up the great work!

Incredibly easy and useful for monitoring multiple temperatures

I got this a few days ago to monitor the temperatures on my outdoor wood boiler. The system exceeds my expectations. Got the basics figured out and working in a few minutes. Strapped two probes to my supply and return pipes and wrapped those with foam insulation; placed one against the chimney; and one sticks down under the boiler to get an outside temperature. The FireBoard connects easily to my WiFi access point in the garage about 30 feet away, even with the FireBoard being inside the metal cabinet of the boiler. I can’t speak a lot to accuracy, as I just have probes up against the things I’m measuring rather than submerged in the liquids (though the outdoor probe is within tolerance of my existing outdoor thermometer), but the sensitivity of the probes is great. I can see very clearly from drops in the return temperature when one or more zones of our house’s heating system is calling for heat, and it’s fun to see how all four of these temperatures relate to one another in a totally logical way. This gives me wonderful insight about the performance of the boiler and the consumption rate of the wood. Several minor requests for the app: (1) make the time and temperature pop up linger longer, it disappears after only a second or so, making it challenging to read after confirming I tapped on the intended spot of my graph; (2) allow dragging around on the graph to rapidly and precisely view different pop up readings along the graphs without having to tap each position separately; and (3) provide a way to specify a scheduled session start time, which I’d really like to have be midnight without the need to actually stay up until midnight to get started on the first night I use the FireBoard. Thanks FireBoard team for making a powerful and shockingly easy to use system for scientific temperature analyses.

Latest release?

I hate posting this review bc; I think Fireboard has a fantastic product. But this latest app release needs some work. The temperature of the channels disappear for what seems to be a minute or more; even the drive screen disappears then reappears.

Perfect for Kamado Cooking

This product is amazing. I don’t usually write a review after one use, but this was such a great experience. I wanted to cook a bone-in leg of lamb at 300F. I had my new(ish), calibrated grill thermometer pegged at 300. However, using the ambient grill probe finally demonstrated how much variation exists closer to the grill! I started at 300F but was only at 275F. A few minor adjustments I was able to get the ambient to 300F and the big dial barely budged! And having the display on my phone (thank you wifi) and even setting a Probe 1 alert at 140F on Alexa??? Sure, you could buy one of the fans and “set it & forget it” but that takes all the effort and enjoyment out of long cooks. The FireBoard helped take some of the “what’s really going on in there” guess work out of it. As it was my first use I did probe the meet with a trusted instant read probe and they were spot on. Great product. Strong buy recommendation Can’t wait to try an all day brisket and graph the stall!

Great app one little bug.

This app allows me to control my yoder smoker exactly the way I want. The only niggle is I can't set the max temperature. I try to set the smoker to 600 which is allowed. It throws an error message that I can't set it higher than 600. UMMMM.
