I paid for Downloads app a while back and see I now have to pay for same app from same developer, because Downloads app doesn’t work w/ iOS 11. Disappointing! How long before developer decides to do this again??

I used the original “Downloads” app by this developer ever since iOS 4 or 6 I believe, and it served as a great place to store all kinds of files, such as ISO’s, ZIPs, MP3s, etc. I was even shocked when it worked in iOS 10 with the 7 Plus. However I was sad to see that it wasn’t compatible with iOS 11, and so I had to remove it. Found out about “Files,” and I thought, okay cool. It looks like it works with iOS 11. So I downloaded it and expected something totally different. It was the exact same interface and usability, so I had two thoughts: 1. If it’s the exact same design and such, why not just update the old app to work with iOS 11? 2. When I downloaded the old app and purchased the full version of it, why should I have to pay for the full version of a carbon copy app, at two dollars more? I know that’s not how the App Store works but you should give those that have been concurrent users a break. Overall it’s a great app to store files in and a great music player since it has background support, especially with the file access through both iTunes and through a local browser wirelessly. But the $4.99 full version upgrade feels like a stab in the back for having bought the previous app’s full version.

I paid for a full version, then I updated my iPhone 7 & now it seems as if it’s no longer compatible. Found out the developer makes this “files” app now & now i have to pay for the full features AGAIN. You know I’d actually consider it if the apps support team would atleast email me back about this & if this app actually worked, because idk about anyone else but files never even start downloading after i paste the link and click “done.”

I've been using this app for about 2 years now. It downloads and stores files easily. I mostly download how to and work out videos so my needs aren't too extravagant. There were some issues with some of the updates early on but those where fixed quickly and I haven't noticed any issues for well over a year.

Still Doesn’t Work

So I’ve used “Download Pro” for years, until IOS 11 came out. I then discovered this app and used the “lite” version. Downloaded 3 mp3 files and it stopped working. I assumed I needed to purchase the full version, which I did, and I still can’t download any other files. I wish they would’ve just updated the old app......

Paid for this app. Previous version called Downloads... creator discontinued and changed name with 11.0.1 release. Lost 10gb in downloads because previous app will no longer open and now asked to pay $4.99 for the new version. Friends bought as well and lost everything so now I look bad for recommending... Garbage. TLDR- app changed and lost everything... will have to repurchase and start over after update.

Miss the old version of downloads the one I paid for now developer doesn’t update it no more instead made this app which charges you money to download unlimited . Smh talk about it having a limit .

Threw out using the app for 2 years it was perfect I even purchased the app in order to obtain extra space/storage but for some reason the app is no longer downloading my content so therefore I am not satisfied with this app hope To receive a response towards my issue/problem therefore I rate a 2 star
