Smart Post Should Be Called Stupid Post

Typically I’ve been very disappointed with FedEx’s Smart Post service. I have never received any package through this service that has gotten to me anywhere near the time FedEx or the companies that use this service advertise it to take. I am currently waiting for a package that was shipped on the 24th of January. It is now the 28th if January. At one point a couple of days ago it was in the state next to where I live and it is now in a location it has already been once. This is typical. I received a notice today that the package will be delayed from the already lengthy 10 days to 11 days. No one should use this very poor service. Would be better off using USPS Priority Mail.

This is a convenient way to track or ship packages from iPhone or iPad, without loading or logging in to FedEx website. That said, this app exposes what an awful job FedEx is doing to improve consumer experience. This app should be more relevant than a mere website to warrant anyone wanting to use it. More precise status updates should be provided as notifications, and I don’t think my expectations are unrealistic. To tell me at 8 in the morning that a package will arrive by 8pm, and requires a signature. That is an unreasonable window of time. FedEx knows quite well where its trucks are and where my package is. With smartphone apps such as this, one would expect an alert “your delivery will arrive in the next hour” or sometime similar. The UPS app allows me to see my deliveries on a map. I realize that the technology I’m expecting is a bit futuristic, but in reality we’re already there and FedEx chooses to not live in the year 2020. Giving the customer a more precise time or an advance warning to expect a delivery would cut back on repeated delivery attempts, which would save time for the drivers and money for FedEx.

Very poorly made app. It doesn’t give instruction or any confirmation based on the action you take. FedEx need to run some baseline heuristic evaluation on this app to make it better.

Delivery Problems

Who ever is delivering in the Swiss Village Community is giving us terrible service. I was exspecting a delivery today, #112134845016, said left at front door, well not sure who’s front door because it wasn’t mine. I checked both front and back and no package, went to check mail and found the package in my mailbox supposedly left at front door. Second time FedEx has left packages in my mailbox, I didn’t think that was allowed. The other day I was expecting a package #106186220121 and the message I got was customer not available, which is not true, I am home bound so always here. I have also received packages that were not mine. I am not happy with the service at all here.

Doesn’t work

Have been trying to hold a package at a location for two days now. Every time getting error messages. Go to virtual assistant, and it doesn’t work. It won’t let me click the box to type anything! Trash.


Says you can customize, you can’t

Says the app can tell the driver where to deliver. That feature was removed. So now they can deliver it not where you want it.
