Best reading app!

Nuolan

I’ve been a subscriber for years now and with their new subscription offering unlimited reads with little to no limitations I see myself being one for years to come. Scribd has an extensive library books to choose from and while some titles may not be available I find I can obtain what I’m looking for 90% of the time.

Amazing BUT..

lee_brown

I love this app! Super amazing allowing me to read more books than ever and learn at a faster rate for one simple monthly fee. HOWEVER I have noticed it doesn’t save my place sometimes in an audio book which can be really frustrating. I’ve only been using it for a day and primarily audio so I’ll update this as I continue

You get what you pay for

I knew this app was too good to be true. Cheaper price and unlimited books, while it comes at the cost of the listening experience. My spot is NEVER saved from where I was last reading even when creating a bookmark to keep my place. The bookmark is in the wrong spot. When I try to go back a chapter it takes forever to load. This is when the books are downloaded to my phone so it’s not a WiFi issue. It’s the most annoying thing to not only have to figure out where I left off but I am also hearing parts of the book giving away certain sections while trying to figure out where I need to start listening. I’ve had better app experiences using Overdrive and that app is garbage. This has happened on both books I have listened to this month. I’m going to try it out on one more book but if my experience is the same I’m going back to audible.

technical issues/not really unlimited!

AvidListener2018

I love listening to books throughout the day - much better than TV. I have been long time subscriber to Scribd, but the technical problems - such as shutting down randomly, and losing my place when signing back in (just to name a few), made me a minimal user of the audiobooks. However, when I saw that Scribd became unlimited - I was excited and started listening again. Oi!!! For someone that likes audiobooks, this app leaves a lot to be desired. It randomly shuts down still, and since I have been listening more with this app - it has become almost intolerable! After shutting down over and over and over today - I just gave up and went back to other audiobook app. In addition - after listening to a several books, I went to look for the next book in a series, and found that I have to wait until my month renews to be able to select the next one. I thought this was an anomaly, until it happened again this month. That is when I realized that I am barred from selecting most audiobooks now - until my month renews. Deceptive practices? Should be called - “Unlimited - Not”.

Bad, very very bad.

This is an annoyingly bad app. That should not even be released as a Beta. It does not correctly save the place where listening was paused. It garbles some content. And now it hangs up trying to restart and then comes with an error message that this audio book is currently not available please try later. But non of the other audiobooks will play. I tried to re load the book. Nothing doing. I deleted the app and re installed it. Nothing doing. I gave it one star because zero is not available. This is crap!

Restrictions & Out Dated Books

Watty2018

I was so disappointed in this as I have used Audible for years & thought this might be a cheaper alternative. However, while they “say” they are unlimited, I found limits as I tried to download my second book. Evidently, if you are listening to a series, you have to wait a month before you can download the next book? Then I search for few titles that are not there. So I search the subject 2 books pop up, published in the 70’s??? I don’t subscribe to “read” as that’s cumbersome on my phone. I want to listen! So after my free trial, I’ll be opting out & stocking with faithful Audible. Current books & I load up on their 2:1 sales.

This app is amazing for the price! I LOVE that it’s truly unlimited, so wonderful! My only hope for this app is that it will have a sleep timer soon! I’ve have lost my spot one too many times listening at night /falling asleep.
