Update: Still horrid. Now the App does popup advertising while you are in the middle of watching a live game. It isn’t just because the writing & coverage is way better that people subscribe to other Sports content providers like The Athletic over ESPN. But also because they allow you to filter out the Sports & content you don’t want. ESPN allows you to select the sports and teams you want to follow but they generally ignore these settings and totally overwhelm with content you don’t want. You don’t follow follow MMA or WWE? Too bad ESPN will inundate you with ads and PPV offers before you get to the sport you want. You paid for ESPN? Sucker that doesn’t mean extra value. Too bad we need to make money! Geez you want to filter for the sports you want? Please navigate to the bottom of the screen every friggin time because we ignore & forgot the Sports you like. Oh want to watch 2 games ar once? Oops we forgot the filter setting you set and will show 43 college basketball games you have to sort before getting the 2nd game you wanted. I wish I could get my content elsewhere cause ESPN Is horrid. Can’t believe you clowns give this a 4.6 rating.

Buffering issues when casting to smart tv!! 3 seconds of content followed by 15 seconds of buffering, when I watch on my phone it’s fine , this app is the only app that does this when I stream

Purchased in order to watch the Mannings on MNF. Even with paid subscription, it’s unavailable. The game playing on ESPN was also unavailable. Disappointing.

You’d expect an app owned and operated by such a prestigious name would work properly. It’s fantastic if you want to watch the word “buffering” on your screen every 2 seconds. Any kind of viewing on this app is absolute TRASH. Waste of time. ESPN should honestly be ashamed of this app.

The app does not let me stream even after checking my wifi, logging out and back in, and deleting the app and redownloading it. There’s been many other times when I’ve had to log out of the app and back in again just to watch a game.

They lure you in with the watching the games live but want you to log into your tv provider……….well if that’s the case why use the app I might as well just use my tv provider

I watch NFL games across multiple apps and ESPN’s casting gives me the worst experience, requiring games to be 4-5 minutes behind or games won’t even load up at all like tonight’s playoff game.

When comes to ESPN app on Apple TV devices horrible/blurry/freeze streaming when comes to TV Provider credentials. Terrible big time! Just watching any ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, SEC etc.. on TV provider owned app that’s it. When comes to ESPN+ subscribed services on Apple TV devices which streaming beautifully smoothly without blurry/streaming videos. Also all my Apple TV devices I just turned off the features which “ALLOW TV PROVIDER TO ACCESS”! Meaning ESPN won’t be able to access your TV subscription information.
