It's great but

I wanted to report an error. For melodic minor scale, the scales should be different on ascending and descending. Instead the app uses the major 6th and major 7th on both ascending and descending. They should be flat on the way down. Thank you.

Great App

Great app for basic and thorough ear training. Great for beginners and experts alike

Best and free

Bearz0r

Easily the best ear training app I’ve found, and it’s free! I literally paid for ear training apps already that do less than this one. I really appreciate all the options like being able to test yourself on descending as well as ascending intervals, and having inversions of chords. I also appreciate that you can take “tests” with set numbers of questions. This way I don’t have a set a timer or just practice till I feel like I did enough. I get a concrete amount of work that I will do and then be done. Also great that you can have multiple instrument sounds. Thank you for this app!

Fun and helpful

Pretty neat, good tool for beginners and advanced. Fun for your average musician.

Having fun so far, really good for training your ear!

Excellent functions, terrible samples

luotiansha

Really fantastic functionality, best so far. But I have to say, the piano samples in this app is literally TERRIBLE, which is harmful to my ear training (guitar is okay). Although I appreciate many good functions in it, I simply shouldn’t develop my skills upon this app.

Crazy that it’s free

These are simple exercises in simple progressions, yet the app is so incredibly helpful I am astounded that they aren’t charging money for it. It starts off extremely easy, so you have to be patient in the beginning if you’ve played an instrument before, but within the first half hour it picks up a bit. I have never done much ear training before despite playing a couple instruments, and the medium-level exercises are challenging for me. I’ve been trying to learn songs by ear for the first time, and this app is a tremendous help. And after completing the “goals” which progress incrementally, there is a practice section to review as often as needed.
