Energy usage in real time!

appguyjack

This app makes is super easy to visualize the energy that I’m using at home and lets me keep track of my house while I’m away. A lot of other cool energy saving features as well

Provides the insights to save

Sparty_47

The app when combined with the energy bridge allows users to take a deep dive into the energy consumption of their home. While the insights provided are helpful and have been improving in recent releases your savings will vary based on your engagement with the app and will be amplified the more curious you are. In my case I identified a few older appliances that were like energy vampires, consistently inflating my monthly bill. Biggest change for me was replacing the old fridge in the garage. If you really want to increase the experience smart plugs not only allow you to control things remotely but provide independent energy metering with precision not available utilizing software based algorithms. DTE offers a lot of great rebate programs to help you save on new appliances once you have identified where your home could be more efficient. In my case I can honestly say my average monthly usage is down ~25% year over year which for me translates to about $450/yr because of the actions I’ve taken that the app helped me identify.

Big fan

Demsimon

It’s cool that DTE offers an app that helps lower my bill! The fact that it actually has good ux/ui is even better. Now I know what to expect on my bill since I can track how much my energy usage is costing me-it’s super helpful to turn appliances on and off and immediately see my usage go up and down. I wish they would bring bill pay back though. I used to use that all the time.

Buggy or just slow?

johnpfeif42

Not bad, could be much better if updates weren’t so slow or missing for a few days.

App issue

Conmegowenmom

Ever since yesterday’s app update, my app only shows my gas usage and not my electricity. Where the electricity usage used to be is just a second gas usage tab. Hoping this can get fixed soon

No data??? Before update there was no issues

zrudty

No more data for days - saltine’s is just half the day or no data at All even after the 36 hour limitation - very annoyed as it just useless

Not a fan of redesign

Notbeshaken

The original app was nice. It provided simple charts and graphs that were easy to understand. The redesign doesn’t work for me specifically. This is mainly due to how the UI is laid out on an iPhone SE. Many of the charts are squished and difficult to read at a glance. Due to this layout I rarely use the app any more

Ok,

tam3935

This app would be better if it would tell you what an estimate of your current upcoming energy usage is and an estimate of your bill would be. It does let you know the previous month energy usage is but not the future (current upcoming month) . Thank you for your response. I have found it.

Phenomenal app!

KosherSugar

Love to see the live energy usage!

Good Electric Information but needs to do more

TechMaster2000

Thank you for showing us our real time electric usage and letting us know how it is trending and comparing to last month and last year. The new app is now as good as the old app with a couple more features and it is great to see you responding to our App Reviews. Now that you are charging a monthly fee, I would like to see more advanced features, like: 1. Letting us send notifications to the iPhone lock screen if a big change in usage just occurred or we are trending to go over our goal for the day so we can take action before we blow our budget. Only putting notification badges in your app does not help us understand what is causing our usage to change. By letting us turn it on and off, it will give us a chance to learn what the real-time change was when we turn on different things. This would be annoying if it was left on all the time but would be great if it told us that energy usage just jumped 400 watts when we just turned on the TV or dropped 200 watts when we turned off the stove. Or send us a notification when our power usage goes to zero and we know that a power outage has occurred when we are away from home. 2. I like that you are able to show what electricity the fridge is using, but I as a lot of folks have more than one fridge. How do I know which fridge is being shown and can you show the other fridge? 3. Can you build in Siri shortcuts support so I can ask Siri how my electric usage is doing or trending or if I have any new notifications. 4. More comparisons to houses of our own square footage versus just average usage of all homes. 5. Support for dark mode. Thanks again for providing this app and service.
