Garbage

Had to go to forum for answers since hints and guide are useless. Do not purchase this junk

Have it your way

The best thing sense kool laid I just love it

No tasks

As has happened with so many Big Fish games, I have reached a point where there are no tasks. I was really enjoying it. Loved the mini games. Pretty hard hops. Great graphics. I guess I will delete it and start over. Disappointing.

Needs work
Looking better

The voice and written dialog do not finish before it disappears. Interacting with objects doesn't always produce results until after several attempts. Instructions for puzzles are not always clear.

Not good

All you do is keep hitting the hint button and nothing happens, to confusing.

I never review
Rosi G

But I am now because I hated this game and I play most of BF's HO games. Clunky. Unclear story. Bad directions. Stuck and hint won't help. What a waste of money. I got so frustrated I just deleted it - which I've never done before. Only two good things about this game: Rocky the dog is awesome and there is a custom mode.

Very difficult
Etakblue

A little too tough to figure out a lot of areas in this game. Not my favorite.

UPDATE: This game had such a flawed implementation of functionality in which after my review, I was repeatedly kicked out numerous times causing loss of progress. I will not buy their next game unless positive reviews are submitted. See my review below for a list of unacceptable flaws before purchasing this garbage. I deducted an additional star. As a child, your parents, famous paranormal researchers, disappeared while investigating strange occurrences at the Barton Mansion in Whispering Hollows. While tracing a clue, your police officer sister gets kidnapped by menacing vines outside of the mansion. Now you, a dark dimension detective, set out to find your family and the truth behind their disappearances. The graphics are clear but appear slightly washed out; there's heavy emphasis on darker shades of colors, such as blue, red, and pink, to create a mysterious, suspenseful mood. The artwork creates a menacing atmosphere while you explore a creepy, abandoned mansion with aggressive vines slithering around you at every corner. You can customize your settings to your desired options. The inventory is labeled and interactive; you will also play micro puzzles within your inventory. The teleport map, which is the cell phone in the lower left corner, indicates available tasks in custom mode. It also holds your notes, video diary, and achievements. You play an HOS to get Rocky, a cute dog helper to help you with tasks, such as digging a dirt pile. The only HOS I found are word lists with heavy, progressive interaction. The puzzles are fun and varied. I loved the stencil and paint one! Another type was to put slides into a projector to locate objects missing from the scene; then you place them correctly to gain parts of the story. You collect coins for Rocky's room and several parts to the Barton Mansion in some locations. I gave the game two stars for the following reasons: 1. Transition was consistently slow and clunky. 2. Items were difficult to acquire and place in the scenes; it took several attempts many times. 3. Annoying pop-up of inventory items upon touch. 4. Notes did not record thorough story progression; only snapshots of reading materials. 5. Narration was cut off before completion in numerous puzzles and cut scenes. 6. Less than par collectibles and extras. 7. Repeated kick outs and slight loss of progress. This week was not a good one for BF. They need to up-their-game to keep us interested since other developers are hot on their trail! I can't really suggest this one!

Done with this!
awesome app chick

They need to fix the note part. I somehow managed to rotate two of the pieces to the right position, but the third is rotated, but not to the right position. Create a skip for it or something. It is extremely frustrating. I play these games to relax not the opposite.

KimT, I read your review and am only playing this because I am bored. Usually our reviews are rated about the same. After suffering through health issues, the dentist (more afraid of that than rats!) and having to install 6 tons of air conditioning in my house I am extremely stressed and need to get my mind elsewhere. But BigFish needs to give us blockbusters! We pay them to do so. Let's keep bugging them for a new Empress. Also Ioved those Five-BN games you suggested. There was another but not available yet in the USA! I stand by my rating! This could have been a blockbuster, but Daily Magic has some work to do first. The storyline was interesting, the game was decently long and had a lengthy bonus adventure. The graphics were beautiful and soft, and the cut-scenes interesting. You could customize your settings, there was a marked teleport map (if so customized), and inventory was labeled and had plus items to assemble. You collect coins to decorate a pet room, and morphing objects. You have a doggy named Rocky to help you reach inventory items. The HO scenes were varied to a point, with most being use one object to find and unlock another. The HO scenes had embedded puzzles. There were lots of puzzles and games, and some were a bit different and others boring rotational junk. I took off stars for the following reasons: there was no journal, just notes, which really don't tell a story. Loading was not instantaneous between locations. Usage of inventory items was very difficult at times, and the inventory "jumped" outside the inventory bar. The game was slightly glitchy and it was frustrating at times to play. If these issues were fixed, the game wouldn't have felt dated and would have been a joy to play, and could have been a 5 star game. But I do thank you for no RATS! Dream Team Elite, and others, don't waste money on this game unless you really have nothing better to do. It wasn't a terrible game but we should get more for our money! Lynxie sends ?❤️? to all, especially KimT!
