CPT Coach was a collaborative effort between the VA’s National Center for PTSD, the VA’s Sierra Pacific (VISN21) MIRECC, and the DoD’s National Center for Telehealth and Technology. Additional thanks go to the Cincinnati VA Medical Center.
This is a great tool for people to recover but this needs some fixes badly. If you use your phone in dark mode, the text becomes black on black, with a tiny grey shadow; it’s almost impossible to read. Also, please update this to be full screen for iPhones without a home button.
I have found this app very helpful and convenient to use. However there is not a way to print completed worksheets from the app. I feel this would be a beneficial update to make.
Is the only option for saving your homework really a photo? “Dearest Mother, I take pen in hand on the eve of battle, that a daguerreotype might memorialize these last fond sentiments.” Where is the cut-and-paste option for those of us who may not prefer leaving handwritten journals lying around to confirm what our family members suspect anyway? Even a PDF would be good. Sure, I’ll find a workaround, but it is frustrating to complete the first assignment on why you think the most messed-up thing you ever experienced happened and what it did to you then realize the app doesn’t accept your digital work. Maybe I’ll just take a “photo” of my cat. “Cat. Yep. Reckon that says it all.”
App ends abnormally many times. Seems to be multiple bugs. Can't save programs data to the cloud. Lost eight hours of work twice. Stick with paper for now.
App closes suddenly. Cannot get any of the worksheets done. Making it difficult to do the therapy. No back up for worksheets done so far.
This app is just what I was looking for, but it seems like this app wasn't made for non-military victims of PTSD. Also, I was hoping for a feature that would allow you to email the worksheets to your CPT therapist, but this app doesn't have that feature. I'm going to stick to paper for now.
This is the best app that I've used for CPT. I'm a veteran (USMC) with PTSD. I was recommended this app at an inpatient PTSD program. Using this app and following treatment has helped tremendously. You won't be cured but this app has made life a little easier to make sense of. This is something that if used properly in conjunction with working with a counselor will make a difference. it has for me. I wish the best for all my fellow vets.
While I agree this has been very helpful as I've been working with a therapist on PTSD, it often freezes up and I have to restart my tablet. It also doesn't sync between devices, so the information I put on one device (iPhone & iPad) doesn't show up on both devices. I take my iPad with me to therapy, but using it on my phone is useless. It needs to be updated, but otherwise good assistant to therapy.
Great app however once you complete the CQ Worksheets you can no longer see the Stuck Point, including in the examples. Once this is fixed on the next update, I will change my review.
