Can’t Link Your Physical Compass Card

1dollardealapp

This is ridiculous. I was told it’s two different things. I can register my card to my account online but can’t link to the cloud app?!! This needs to be fixed. Meaning if I forget my card at home I need to log on to my account on a website to see I have a valid monthly fare. When it can simply be linked to this stupid app. I can log onto to my account on cloud but it’s useless basically!

Just wanted to see the schedule... not possible

This app is very amateurish. It allows you to purchase tickets, if you have all of the information you’ll need for the trip. However, if you simply want to see what the schedules are, they’re not in the app. You still need to go to the website to get the weekday and weekend schedules for northbound and southbound trains. Whose bright idea was that? There is a section of the app that’s called Trip Tools. Indeed, it has a feature called Schedules & Real Time (sic). Unfortunately, there are no schedules available, only a Google maps embedded app which requires you to know the address of the stop or station you’re looking for. It’s difficult to distinguish between train stops and bus stops, and there’s nothing that tells you which you’ve selected on the embedded google map. Needless to say, if you select the wrong one, you are looking at the wrong information. The app is unusable from this perspective. I gave up trying to get a simple coaster schedule to get downtown and back. The app is not designed for anything other than purchasing tickets if you either know exactly what you want, or if you don’t care and are willing to wait for the next train (and there are only 4 per day on weekends!!). The app is a good idea, but either under funded, resulting in a high school project type app, or else the city didn’t do its due diligence and selected a developer that is unable to implement a proper app. Either way, though I’ve tried to like the app, it’s pretty much useless. Yet another reason no one can use the San Diego public transportation infrastructure. One of the worst systems in any major city in the country.

In case of no internet connection...

So far this app has been reliable to a certain extent. I had one experience where my Internet was not up to par, so I had a bit of trouble loading the app. It raised the concern as to how I can validate the fact that I have paid for a day pass if I don’t have Internet at a particular point in my day of trips.

Compass app is worth the try!

Updated Review: 01-24-19 This app has been reliable after what was a rocky overhaul. Everything is working great again. So far no issues. I highly recommend this app. Tip- make sure that you don’t pull your phone out during the ? until you are actually on the bus. Makes it hard to swipe. New Review: 12-2-18 After the apps overhaul to a new interface I had an issue that never happened before. Tickets were disappearing. It was frustrating for the week but was only caused by a new update. Still, wasting tickets was bad. Especially since I’d been using this great app for 3-4 months now. I called customer support and the tech restored my ticket manually. It was the number posted here by the developers (Thank You btw!). This app is really awesome and you should expect some hiccups whenever something great is beginning. It’s okay! This app is a time saver. Everytime I get on the bus people are digging through wallets or lanyards or change looking for their pass. Me? I’m already on my phone and it’s literally a toggle away to check in. The bus driver verifies it after I tap my screen for the animation to trigger and I’m good to go. I was really satisfied with the customer service after the app wasn’t working right for thanksgiving week(ish). The only thing I think could’ve been done better was letting riders know ASAP through an email notification. Especially since our emails are stored on compass servers anyways. Aside from that the actual response was solid and techs were very helpful. Developers got on it the best they could even though it was the holiday season and it all worked out. My app works great again and I’m no longer worried about my ticket disappearing. I like to purchase my tickets for the week in advance so I’ll see how those go too. Not sure if those will stay in my stores bucket but my daily one was what really mattered. Thanks for the fix and awesome app! Old Review: Not sure if this is a glitch or not but buying a day pass expired within hours. I went to work and by the time I got off during the same day my pass was expired. It bought my pass around 8am and it was expired by 4pm. Day passes usually last all day so I’m confused as to why this happened. It’s the first day of using this new update and it almost cost a couple hours. This is my favorite commuting app so please fix it and do something about expired day passes. I’m going to spend 10$ for a 5$ day and I hope it doesn’t happen to anybody else. When I look for my ticket it says it was purchased in my history...but says I’ve already used my ticket for the day. The day isn’t over yet so what gives? Update: after buying another ticket and activating it... the ticket has disappeared AGAIN just moments after closing the app and now I’ve spent 10$ and have to buy another ticket just to get home...please fix this glitch.

Please give me the schedule

Hekwhriafeisvsoahrkageodvaj

This is a great app for traveling around the San Diego/Southern California area however with that said there’s not a spot on the app where I can view the bus/train schedules. I just don’t want to have to go online with sh¡t connection and have to find the schedule each time. Please fix this thanks.

Great app I use it every day ... user friendly!

Where is my ticket?

mitsutada008

I’ve been standing in cold winter rain for an hour just trying to get that ticket work. It keeps showing up in purchase history but it’s DEFINITELY not invalid. I’ve missed three buses. What can I say?

Great App

Srolls03

I take the bus and coaster daily and can easily purchase my tickets through the app. Only down side to the app is it doesn’t give the option to purchase a one-way bus ticket ($2.50). Only the regional day pass ($5.00). Not a huge deal to me but might be for others.

App is broken! Please fix the bug!

wwwSHOCKPROOFXcom

App is broken! Bought a $5 ticket but didn’t give me a ticket. And, still charged my PayPal account. One Star for now!
