I don’t get it

MelinaRoxanne

This app makes no sense. You only get one suggested person every 24 hours (or at least I think that’s what the countdown is, they don’t actually tell you), you can’t see who likes you without subscribing, and it’s the same 10 people in the discover section... with no way to “dislike” someone. Maybe I was doing it wrong, or there’s not enough people in my area to give me more options, but there just seemed like there wasn’t anything to DO on the app. I liked 3/10 people in my discover section and I liked the suggested person they offered, and then I had nothing else to do. Maybe because none of them liked me back but then they should give you more people under discover? Three days and it was the same 10 people.

Not intuitive

CMB is easily the least intuitive dating app I’ve ever used. Firstly just using the word “bagels” to describe app users is silly on its face. Why do we need another (ambiguous) word for “users”? Just complicates things and isn’t cute. Secondly, waaaay to many upsell interruptions for a new user. Seems like every time I go to a tab it pops up some kind of upsell page that I need to dismiss. Annoying. Thirdly, I see numbers on the various tabs on the bottom nav, but when I click on a tab, it isn’t clear what those numbers represent. I must think way too hard to understand what the app is trying to alert me about. Lastly, the “recommendations” don’t work for me. Most guys are very visual, and that is the first gate a woman must pass. Recommending a bunch of profiles based on words in the profile isn’t effective. IG does a way better job recommending photos based on visuals I’ve liked in the past.

My CMB experiences

matthewelyjoseph

I found scams after scams, I reported 8 of them using pictures of military, and well known people nationally and internationally as well, caught when used Children pictures asking for I tunes card or credit card to put money or asking to send mine to them; almost all with accent, widowers, with a child , or working for petroleum company, or United Nations, Red Cross, or being overseas working for contracts posting pictures with Children using them as a shield that are not themselves, all get in love without knowing you right away. Some of the reported ones they come back with different pictures and place on my side as “HE LIKES YOU”, very dangerous. Hope women are not needy missing the red flags, believers of these pushy or romantic and ‘convincing’ beings and break their pockets, etc and are losers. Possible CMB if you pay they can match you with less abusers and scammers.... they shouldn’t use these scammers to obligate you to pay and have a better experience. Pay only one time and no luck as well CMB. you have the power, you can do better. Im trying to send this educative message and all the nickname they requested with my writing are already taken That’s not right. CMB need to recycle the people you choose I get the same and the same scammers reported and the same people over and over. My information as professional don’t match with the uneducated people you match me, or you put people under the age I requested, a joke!. CMB needs High standards as it’s expected to your customers. I asked if I need to pay more, or what to do to send me quality of people I request and deserved. Many, many many People I chose that have some attraction you send advise that it’s a scammer which I am thankful but tells me the quality of men in CMB. Get better! Thanks

Utterly abysmal excuse of a pay-to-play dating app.

CMB is by far the worst dating app I’ve used out of the “top” ones. Your actions have a choke hold based on the in-app currency - Beans. To receive 200 beans, you can follow them on Instagram. To receive 500 beans, you have to act as THEIR marketer by spamming out referral links to your friends, hoping that they’ll bite. Other than that (unless you pay...), you receive 5 beans PER DAY for swiping through your daily bagels. In order to LIKE somebody on CMB through the discover tab, you need to cough up 385 beans. Three hundred eighty five. 385!!!!!! YOU GET 5 BEANS DAILY FOR FREE. I’m currently down to 50 beans. That means UNLESS I PAY, I have to wait 67 DAYS in order to accrue enough beans to like somebody in the discover tab!!! SIXTY SEVEN DAYS. When I first signed up, I was getting 10 bagels per day. I got an in-app offer for the premium subscription model with a free week. My daily bagels has now fallen to TWO. I am getting less bagels as a PAID user. While the discovery tab is nice in terms of filtering your preferences, the bean concept is absurd if you’re charging 385 to LIKE somebody. And two daily bagels is a joke. Horrible horrible overall app experience. NEXT!

Bunch of scammers

I am a woman in my 40’s be careful using this app. Base on my experience 1 out of 3 normal looking guy on this app are fake scammer.

Mediocre

Trash compared to hinge or even Bumble honestly. You think you get at most 10 matches each day, but after you don’t pay for premium for a week or two, expect to only get two free likes a day (don’t get to pick the profiles). And then when you look on discovery to try to pick someone you’ll actually like, you won’t have any bagels because you didn’t buy any and will not receive any more for free.

Not enough options

$tealth21

No way to filter people who have kids. Also lots of fake profiles. The app will catch some them if you report, but they won’t refund the beans you spent when you matched with the fake profiles. Why should I pay to match up with fake profiles? CMB knows about this problem but won’t reimburse members.

Recommended for those who dread online dating

To all the single ladies

What I like about CMB as opposed to other dating sites and apps is that it doesn’t give you an overwhelming number of matches to sift through everyday and most of the matches seem to be higher quality, well-educated men (I’m a female.) I only tried this app through the urging of some friends and was single for a very long time because I just didn’t care enough to “force” the issue. One thing I would like to see is a web version of CMB because it can be difficult to type and fill out profiles on a phone. Also, more detailed questions and preferences would be nice, especially something related to kids. Nevertheless, I feel lucky that I met a really great guy through the app because I was jaded with romance for a long time. We have a lot in common, and it also helps that he lives just a few miles away from me ?

Neat idea, but it doesn’t get results.

While I understand that a lot of people are sick of shallow dating apps, I expect a dating app to match me with potential dates sometime this decade. As a man, this app has been a complete waste of time thus far. I followed all of the developers’ advice on creating a profile to the letter, yet my profile has not received even one like. Stick with Bumble if you want an app that gets results.
