I don’t like it.

App works 50% of the time

I have 2 kids and use circle to monitor and limit their usage. However with one, the app always reset from “Teen” to “None” every day so I have to keep checking and switching it back to Teen so that’s it monitored with restrictions. There are also so many “uncategorized” so I don’t even know which site he’s on. My daughter site works fine.... But my son keeps resetting back so NO filter so he’s able to play online video games. I would click “Not Allowed”, then without a few hours, the filter is reset to its original “non filter” state and he’s able to play games online again!!! Why can’t the App continue to work with BOTH kids??? My daughter has 11 filters and it stays the way I set it up. My son has 2 & it keeps messing up. So frustrating to have to reset it over and over every day. UPDATE: Found out my son has the app on his phone with my password so he’s able to reset and bypass all the filters and limits i set for him. I had him delete the app fr his phone so he can’t change the setting anymore.

Worked until i paid to subscribe

I liked the app, so I subscribed and paid $50 for an annual subscription. Unfortunately, even though I received a confirmation that I am subscribed, I received no access to any of the premium features. UPDATE: Now I can’t login, and it refuses to send a code by SMS text despite trying over and over and over again. Tried rebooting the router, as well as reinstalling the app. All I can think of now is replacing a brand new router with another brand new router. Incredibly frustrating and disappointing.

Good idea, but needs improvements

We are trying the premium version of the app. We were hoping this app would help us monitor how much time our kids were spending online. We are finding that any Internet activity adds to the usage. There should be a way for the app to know which is real usage and which is app downloads or background downloads (Apple.com, Microsoft.com, etc). I tried to set those site as Unmanaged but they still seem to be contributing to the usage. I don’ feel like I can rely on the usage reported by this app.

I found a way out of this

Attention all kids/teens getting your device locked. I found a way around this. Your parents/guardians circle has to be plugged into an outlet, if not if will slowly over time power off. This means it has to be in at an outlet. Step 1) find the location where it’s at. Step 2) the side with the plug in and light can be removed. Carefully using a flathead screwdriver or butter knife stick around the edge of the plastic slide down then up it should come lose. Step 3) take off the top (keeps all wires attached) and look for two cords streaming from a blue box (battery) into a circuit. Step 4) final step, disconnect the cord from the circuit and then push both ends together. It will look like nothing ever happened.

Using for 1 month with moderate success

I think this could be great but still a lot of work needed. Works great on computer. Setting the time limit is effective but it only works for the entire device. No way to share devices with more than one person so we have to enforce time limits on the family computer manually as we have always done. We have one computer shared by adults and kids in our family. If I’m doing computer work, I pause the Circle app so it doesn’t count my time as kid-time. Also doesn’t work on our tv at all. Maybe if you only use an internet based streaming tv service. But for satellite it appears to have no ability to control use. The filter seems to work pretty good for specific sites etc.

Doesn’t work with Netgear nighthawk ax6000

I was hoping to be able to get parental controls on my new nighthawk ac6000 . Disappointed.

Does not connect

lrd of the rng

I just upgraded to an iPhone X max. When I try to use the app and enter the four digit passcode, it says could not connect. I can still connect on my old phone. I tried deleting the app and reinstalling it. But still same problem.

Dumb

Too easy to override

Worst app ever

We upgraded to circle premium primarily to filter content and track time. It did neither. Terrible and we had a completely false sense of security.
