I've been asked by the application to write a review so many times that I finally give in. Here's my review. This is at best a mediocre app. It takes forever to load your move, it doesn't give the option to label the rows and columns in algebraic notation and there's nothing extra it purely allows you to send moves back and forth (if it works) there's no live component.

I've used this ap for years and enjoy it. I really wish it would keep track of your record (W-L) vs individual opponents as well as showed their record the way "dominos with friends does"
App needs a refresh

Maybe it's because I've used the app almost every day for the last four years or more, but the whole thing feels stale. I know it's been "redesigned for iOS 10" but it reallt does NOT feel that way. In addition to just a general refresh of the look and feel (app and icon!) I would love to see: landscape support for iPhone, macOS "handoff" support would be an absolutely awesome, killer feature, but I don't know if Apple allows it yet?

The game is alright it would be better if it had the feature to be able to force an opponent to resign the game if they don't play for a long period of time that way the opponent can't purposely not play the game so the game won't progress to a winner or loser. Until it is made I won't be recommending this app to anyone until it is made

I've had this app for many years unfortunately it's just an ok app. When I told a friend to DL and they said it was $9.99 I thought it was a joke. Definitely not worth $9.99 at all. I have other chess apps with much better graphics. I don't mind the extremely basic setup it display but I expect the online play to be solid. With every notification turned on there are numerous times where I am not alerted that my opponent has made any move at all. When I finally go to check its only then I seen that my opponent made a move sometimes hours ago. Not always getting the notification is one thing but to ask someone to spend $10 I could never do. There have been no significant updates to this app from the release and that's not a good thing. For as long as this app has been around even $1.99 is a push for where the app is and where it should be. I hope they make better improvements to this app starting with the price.

I love playing chess, but dropping this app because of the CEO Mark Pincus comparing Donald Trump to Hitler. When you think of the loss of life caused by Hitler, this is an insult to all of them. Because to say Trump is as bad as Hitler, is to say that Hitler is only as bad as Trump.

I enjoy playing every day. It doesn't matter if I win or loose, just meeting new players every day is enjoyable. Of course I like to win but that's not my highest goal. I'm thankful I was introduced to Chess With Friends I really like playing with my 10 year old son. Keep up the good works, thanks.
