Great coding and diagnostic app.

The Carly app is really easy to use and very useful, I just keep the adapter in my cup holder all the time. I had a little issue with coding but Robert (Carly expert team) was super helpful in getting the issue resolved.

This app is falsely advertising features it does not have yet

Tha_Drizzle

This app is advertising codings available for the BMW X7 that are not available to be coded yet. The worst part is that since it is a subscription Apple can’t refund you. The developer has stopped responded to emails about a refund.

Excellent support

RinaldiT

Initially ran into a mysterious coding issue but all it took is one email to the support team and was resolved in minutes. Special shout-out to Robert from the Carly Expert team for a prompt and confident response. Connection was flawless and the app was simple and easy to navigate. I have zero experience in coding and this app makes it really easy.

Clunky app - Terrible Customer Service.

Zoogleboogle

I purchased this after hearing a product placement in TBT, The adapter was 3x what it should cost vs other obd adapters and it is wifi only, not bluetooth (check amazon). I used the “trial lite” version to confirm that the functions I wanted were compatible with my car - and when they were, specifically, exhaust flap control, I purchased the $60 annual subscription. Upon launching and properly connecting - the flap control only works occasionally, and the software itself is very slow/clunky. I contacted Carly who tout and advertise their “legendary support” - Hardly. to return the adapter which shipped domestically, I have to send it within 30 days arrival to GERMANY, which would cost me half as much as the adapter did, just to hope it arrives in time for them to issue a refund. They will not refund my annual subscription either, so I have to deal with apple directly for this. Ill probably end up having to do chargebacks through amex to get any restitution. AVOID. 0 stars.

No coding functions for new X5

bmwenth90

The app and the features as in information is awesome from the app. I have a 2019 BMW X5 (G05). However there’s no coding options. Though it says it supports all models. It would be great after buying the app and adapter for some coding options to be added.

STAY AWAY!

TorProUpgrade

Do not be allured by the claims made by this app. It’s super buggy and it can (in my case) ruin your car. I was excited to order Carly and even bought the ridiculously overpriced adapter. After plugging it in the first and making some changes I noticed that my car’s performance decreased significantly. While I was trying to make changes back to OEM the original adapter stopped working! To Carly’s credit, they did ship me a new adapter from Germany after I sent several annoyed messages. The new adapter works but I still can not restore my car to OEM Bc they have updated the app!! Now some of my settings are permanently stuck as a result! I’ve sent emails for the past week but there is zero response. The new app is so buggy that I can’t even upload the picture of codes that are missing. That doesn’t matter however because all my messages have been ignored by Carly. Buyer beware. If you are going to code your car with this app and adapter you risk creating permanent changes and potentially damage. In my opinion, stay away!!

Support is non existent

Paid 60$ for the app.. which is charged yearly.. bought an adapter for 100$.. paid for all of this on May 16.. May 19th my purchase disappeared.. I have been talking to Anita and Julian from their support for a week now.. and they keep asking me to send them the same info over and over again.. and I do.. but they don’t help.. stay away just buy the BIMMERCODE application, it’s a one time payment and the adapter costs a fraction of the price

So annoyed with this app

Satishhhh

I have used this app in the past to code my E60 550i along with my brother’s e92 and older brothers f10 550i. I had no issues in the past besides the app taking forever to load the ECUs. I recently tried to change some settings on my e60 and when I returned to my car later on the back windows were halfway down. Happened two other times before I reverted back to my original coating. Fast forward a couple of weeks, I bought an F85 X5M. Did some coding on it and now started to get errors from my blind spot control. Went to plug in to revert to the original coding and just so happens Carly decided to update their app. No problem. Until I tried to connect to the car. The adapter connected and then anytime it was reading an ECU it would lose connection. I tried over 20 times after restarting my car, phone and unplugging the adapter. I decided to give it a break. The next day I tried again and now it said the adapter needed to update over a period of five minutes. Thirty minutes later the adapter still said connecting to do the update. I have no idea if it updated or not so I unplugged it and tried again three times waiting roughly 30 minutes each time. So annoyed with this app.

X7 Owners Beware

JoeMaj

I’m wanted to update my review after downloading version 38.0.3 today. There are still no coding options for the BMW X7 even though Carly’s website shows an entire list of available coding options. Don’t take my word for it, go to their website and look up the X7 to see the coding options they have listed there. I just tested their latest version in my X7 and not a single one of those coding options is yet available. This is false advertising. They will never get another penny from me as they are not a reputable company to deal with. They refused to refund my $60 subscription. Buyer beware! Stay away from Carly. Below is my original review: I just recently purchased the 2019 BMW X7 and after reviewing the light version of Carly for BMW I decided to buy the Carly adapter and purchase the first year subscription. However, I quickly found that the full version did not yet support many of the functions that the light version listed as available for the X7. In fact, of the 32 listed functions in the light version only one function is currently available to be coded. I feel this is deceptive advertising and alert X7 users to stay away from this app until they are certain that the coding functions they are interested in have been actually released for use. I contacted Carly to request a refund and they replied that they could not refund the subscription, only Apple can refund subscriptions. So I reported the problem to Apple and they refused to refund a subscription. So I’m stuck with a $60 annual subscription and an $82 adapter that for now are useless to me. I can only assume that this company is working on providing coding functions for the X7 since they listed 32 of them in the light version but until they actually release them I wouldn’t purchase this product if I were you. Look at the competition who actually offer coding options.
