I had researched the Carly app a few years ago when I was living in Greece. I planned on buying it but I ended up moving to Switzerland where I did not need my car so I left it in storage. I have now moved back to the US and shipped my car over. I bought another Carly adapter because I had lost my original one, and now I when I went to register a new battery I learned that it’s not a one time purchase like it used to be. Now you have to pay yearly which to me is absurd and over priced. Nice one Carly, you just dug your own grave. You will no longer have pure enthusiasts using this app, just yuppies and people who work at auto shops where the cost of 60$ is justified. Personally I read someone else post and review called “BMW North” he said he was a developer and trainer for Carly originally and recommended buying other OBD2 scanners, like BimmerCode, and they actually tell you which OBD2 scanners work with their app so you can choose. I just bought their app 32$ and a vgate OBD2 for 21. It’s still cheaper than buying a one year subscription for Carly. I also bought two of Carly’s adapters because I lost my first and I’m disappointed with the money I’ve wasted on a company which doesn’t care about their end users, especially the purist ones who will actually recommend the company to other users. Me personally and I know I speak for aleveryone who has feels they have been bent over by this company. I will go out of my way to make sure not a single person I know EVER buys this app until you return the one time fee. I’m even willing to pay more, but not 60$ per year. Then you know it will never end. Why not just make it 100$ per car? It doesn’t matter at this point, I am certain you will fall by the way-side and your reputation is completely ruined.

Stopped Connecting

After the most recent update it stopped connecting to my 2008 (E65) 750i. The update prior to the most recent connected just fine until the update to fix connection issues with the 2004 models was pushed out. Please help.

I had an issue with the new version of the software not reading my car’s data correctly. Robert from the support team systematically helped to isolate and resolve the issue in an update to the software. Now it’s working great again! Thanks.

Yearly subscription with new version

Watch out, if you paid for the old version like I did, now they want you to upgrade to the new version so you can pay AGAIN, a yearly subscription ....no thanks

Won’t get my money!

I’ve loved this app and have successfully coded both of my BMW’s. I purchased the full version, the adapter and payed for the additional features. I would be happy to pay a fee for each additional car that I code or diagnose but a yearly fee for something I may not use is unfair. I won’t be getting the new version.

Dear customers don’t buy this app they start to be gready is no worry for how much they try to charge you Plus I hope they will not force me to buy the update that I already bought the professional version one time and now to upgrade and pay a year fee of 59$

What does the pop-up migration look like for old users

The only pop-up I received was a “present box.” Is this the migration for old users??? They were not clear as to what the migration pop-up look like. I want to make sure the “present box” pop-up is indeed the migration for old users; I don’t want to get a year in and they try to charge me annually. It is supposed to be free for old users. HELP!!!!

Once your done buying their adapter and subscription you can buy a very powerful prosumer device. Ecs tuning sells a device by schwaben for $250 which is way more powerful. After a couple years of their subscription you could have bought the other device.

Upgraded to the new version and accidentally charged by Apple. Support from Carly for BMW (Robert Prosciak) was great. Apple refunded the money and I got the free upgrade. App works greAt. Thanks G

Best coding app.

The updates, customer service, make this coding app the best. Include the battery reset, the new digital garage to store your back ups, the service reminder reset that keeps you away from the dealership, and you have top notch, even if you have to buy a dedicated OBDII dongle from them.
