Disappointing....

Veryprettywoman

I was in the market for a used car. Ended up having to log in to the reg www. This is geared for the new car buyer only. Glad I get magazine as it was comprehensive.

Worthless - no real data

Jassion123

Most cars I looked up had "not enough data" and the ones that had info was just random number ratings with no in depth reviews and no breakdown of why the car was unreliable for example. Totally disappointed!

Where's the data?

I'm a longtime CR subscriber and the data they collect about new and used cars is extensive and valuable. That this app is separate from the other CR app is annoying but indicates they're serious about providing a good experience. Sadly, this app leaves me wanting. I'm better off navigating their website or digging through a stack of old magazines. For instance, I want to tap on the reliability rating of a used car to dig into the details, but I can't. All I get is the top level reliability rating, which is helpful, but all I can think about is what I'm missing.

Great App with useful info -> lacking a slight amount of detail FOR CR Subscribers

Cdftrim

To those of you who are complaining about the lack of info.... BUY A CR Subscription!! I don't know what the person was talking about; while they claimed to have paid $2.99 for a "Subscription," even though they claim to have a CR Magazine subscription already. I logged in with my Consumer Reports info/login and I received full access. On top of that, IF YOU HAVE A SUBSCRIPTION AND WANT MORE DETAILED INFORMATION, THEN READ THE BUYING GUIDE THAT IS MAILED TO YOU EVERY YEAR! Great comparison app, especially for $2.99.

Disappointed

Recently downloaded this app -- the section for Toyota does not work (getting an error message stating that their "mechanics are working on it"). Come on folks...you cannot give me ratings on Toyota vehicles!

Grudge against Honda? Disappointing App

Yourmomandme10218

I was disappointed before and after downloading this app, the info they give is lifeless and a dated perspective. It also seems they have a grudge against Honda. Their ratings are solely based on personal, not looking out for us the consumer. Very disappointed with you CR.

It's a Handy Guide

Krlyman

Like someone said before, if you want details then you'll need to subscribe. This is not a free service and it is not supported by advertisements. The app does what it needs to. It's just a guide. And quite useful while I look for a new car.

WORTHLESS !!!

crg205

Been a CR subscriber for over 50 years and also subscribed to and have been using their website for several years. Now with this app I can no longer even get signed in. I'm seriously considering dumping them entirely.

Great app

Needs refining: Unable to Search, Filter

Consumer Reports produces great automobile reviews, but this application makes it difficult to find information. (1) Used car buyers are s.o.l. You've got to find the new car, then filter to the car type. Is that model discontinued? Guess you're going to the mobile site! (2) You cannot search and filter the reviews. So, if you are just looking for reliable cars or even the “CR Recommended” or “CR Best Buy's,” you are out of luck. Again, the used car information is so neutered it is useless.
