Calm

This apt has helped me to sleep and learn to meditate and find peace .

Wasn’t great to begin with, much worse now

senoritaugly

I used this app for a while a few years ago. It wasn't super useful to me, even then a lot was behind a paywall, but I like the guided breathing exercise. I stopped using it and deleted the app at some point. When I downloaded it again recently, a lot had changed. The front page is now almost entirely paid content and the breathing exercise I used to use has been moved and was pretty hard to find. Also, you used to be able to adjust the breath pattern more, but now you have to have a subscription for anything other than 4 seconds inhale, 6 seconds exhale. There is very little content in this app that isn’t behind a $70/year subscription and they don’t even let you read descriptions or listen to previews of a lot of things, like the sleep stories, so you know what you’d be paying for. Used to be good for the breathing exercises, but now that they’re harder to access (not what I wanna deal with when I’m stressed), it’s completely useless to me.

So RELAXING!!!

DrewKahuna

I downloaded the app because of the stress of school, work, and life in general. I listen to this while in the bath everyday and it always realigns my peace and energy when I think it’s gone downhill. If your looking for a mental break on the form of an app here it is. Also, the sounds included are INCREDIBLE!!! I love the natural outdoors and ocean sounds the most. Definitely worth it!

The app calm is cool

Queen reina07

The app calm is cool but, what calm should do is every month have a different selection of free music, stories and meditation and change it each month that way people who are just getting the app can listen to free music and stuff like that and get hooked on certain things and then once it changes they want to go back to the stories that they liked and the music that they liked so it would pressure them into paying for it.

Excellent resource

Dr. CSB

The variety and value of each practice and session really make this my go-to app for mental self-care. I wish there were more guided meditation sessions in the 5-6-minute range, and/or shorter, practice-only follow-up / maintenance sessions without as much explanation, in the themed meditation series. For example, I’d love shorter sessions from Lama Rod, Elisha Goldstein, or Tara Brach that are like quick reminder or check-in sessions touching on the practices and focus of their existing series.

To many tv “personalities” for me

hkremer

I don’t want to ding it much just because it’s not for me, but I’m not going to resubscribe. The last thing I want to see when I go to meditate is a bunch of sports/tv/movie people. Rather than calm, it seems VERY LOUD with all these pop culture icons staring at you. The invasion of tv culture, even in apparently popular meditation apps just confirms (to me) the coming idiocracy. I liked Jeff Warren though, and I’ll see if he’s got anything somewhere else in a more peaceful environment.

Love This! I have taken medications since I was in my low 20’s. Now at 57 I enjoy listening and reading techniques to help handle anxiety. Star

What a refreshing and multitude of options way to relax yourself. I love the breathing exercises, too!

Misleading

Rett35

It says it’s a free app but you guys are kind of forcing us to pay for a $70.00 subscription that’s not very calming at all I like the app but it’s very limited without subscription I would like to stay but this is another bill I’m not sure I really need!
