lazy app, not helpful

poison oak no

Very stupid app. I was expecting little games or activities within the app but the whole thing just gives you a list of “ideas” of something to do, all of which are very lame and played out - snap a rubber band on your wrist, hold an ice cube, stretch, make a list, etc. We’ve all heard these suggestions before. This app is equivalent to just Googling “self harm distraction tips.” It doesn’t even give you a spot to type out anything for the list-based suggestions, just tells you to go find a pen. In an episode that is leading towards self-harm, people are not going to have the clarity or patience to go find supplies and do this kind of thing. Little distracting games that require focus or spaces to type things out or stress release activities that can be done within the app would be much more helpful than this. The only decent part was the breathing exercise. The rest of it is useless and frustrating enough to push someone over the edge in the moment. Don’t bother downloading this.

Good concept, but...

Let me first say that I think this app is a fantastic idea, and that it is very beautifully designed. However, when I’m feeling anxious enough to use the app at 3 am, the last thing that I want to do is try to remember if I have any non permanent tattoos somewhere in my house. It might help for them to put times tables or bubble wrap into the actual app itself.

Pretty good concept with room for improvement.

My self harm is actually binge eating or snacking unecessarily. That being said this still seems to work a fair amount of time. The suggested improvements: •Needs Touch ID. Who has time to log in everytime? •When it asks you to list things it would be nice to put like 20-30 blank lines that can be typed on. Coming up with a mental list actually stresses me bc it feels like a test where I need to remember my answers. •How about a virtual dice or a virtual bubble wrap? It’s not entirely practical for me to keep things like that with me. •How shout a diary section or a way to vent or type as an addd feature of “support” or “distract”? Overall good app! Can’t wait to see it become a great app instead

It helps

Turtles are fun

I’ve struggled with self harm for a little while, and it really does help. Having the several different activities really does help “ride the wave”. I’ve got a small problem with the newer update though, becuser it got rid of the random list. Instead taking you to a specified category and giving you a random option, I liked the random category so much more before this happened.

Great design, could be generalized.

I Think You Call Me Sexy

This is a great app with a lot of really positive features. I do wish that I could swap it more to panic attacks/anxiety versus self harm. I don’t self harm and really prefer not to have information and questions about it right in my face, so this makes me less likely to use the app.

Changed my life!

Soccerkitty12

I started cutting myself about 5 months ago. I didn’t think it was that bad until my friend told me she cut herself and was getting a therapist. I knew I had to tell my mom. It was hard. I stayed up for a whole night thinking of what to do. I told my mom after school the next day. She was glad I told her and helped me. I went a week without cutting (hardest week ever). Unfortunately I started cutting again from stress. Then I found this app. It changed my life. I don’t know what I would do without it. I’m now 1 week without cutting. It may not seem like a lot but it is a big accomplishment for me. I just want to say thank you. This app is amazing.

This is a good thing

This app may not be perfect. But I saw it on Facebook and decided to look throw it. Some of the options are things I have done to deal with anxiety. I feel like this app is defiantly not just for self harm but panic attacks too. Really like the idea behind this. I hope it does help many.

I used to be a cutter..

BuFFDaDDyD

I used to be a cutter and quit on my own; however, I wished this app was available to me when I was going through it. I’ve downloaded this app to just see what it is like. I struggle with a few mental health disorders as well and I’m using this app for them now. I highly recommend this app. The breathing exercise is my favorite and I believe this app can help with just about anything from stress to anxiety to depression to even PTSD. This app is super helpful. Thank you so much for making this creators!!!

Amazing app

This doesn’t just help for self harm, it can help anxiety, and other things. I would highly suggest this app for anyone in need of distractions or coping techniques.
