Backgammon is one of the oldest board games or dice games for two players. The playing pieces are moved according to the roll of dice, and players win by removing all of their pieces from the board. *Rules*

There are many variants for backgammon, such as hypergammon,nackgammon,acey-deucey, gul bara and tapa, but they almost share the same basic rule.

In this game, players alternate turns, rolling two dice at the beginning of each turn. A checker may land on any point that is unoccupied or is occupied only by a player's own checkers, may also land on a point occupied by exactly one opposing checker. When all of a player's checkers are in that player's home board, that player may start removing them. The one who first finishes removing all his checkers is the winner.

Played this all the time with some advertising but now it is ridiculous with 30 second ads every time you start a game. Deleted from my iPad --- NEXT !!!

How can a game on easy vs the computer beat you almost every time without you getting all your pieces across to even try to get them in to finish game is to hard on easy I would expect that on hard but on easy seems like crap

Fun to play, but the computer opponent usually gets ideal rolls and frequent doubles, while the player seems to just miss ideal rolls and have few doubles.

Ditto on the unseemly capacity for computer-generated doubles that seem to unerringly favor the "house"..... If you want to play their version of backgammon, here's the idea... Whenever they get a series of doubles, just keep doing an "undo" on your own roll and then re-roll and re-roll....and keep rolling until you get what you want..... You'll win every time

As everybody seems to agree - far too many doubles than statistically possible especially favoring computer - also other rolls always seem to come up in house favor - no explanation for what the numbers in menu stand for.

The rolls this game makes are so astronomically impossible it makes it virtually impossible to win at. If I roll a double, it ALWAYS rolls a better double right after. If I put him on the wall, he always puts me on the wall right after. The rolls are just too perfect.

Used to enjoy this game. Now it's not realistic. No way the computer could be rolling that May doubles or perfect rolls all the time. Not worth the effort anymore.
