I speak seven languages this app is by far the best and easiest I've ever found. The only thing better is totally immersing yourself in another country and having to learn with or without the help of others. If you cannot learn a language using these easy 10 minute courses which add onto each other testing with unexpected teaching methods I don't know how you'll ever learn. This is the easiest way to learn the language thank you very much but I will continue learning happily with your apps. Yours. Tyrrell global conglomerate

Duolingo is a waste of time compared to this

I'm seeing so much progress just on day one. I've been doing daily Duolingo classes and it doesn't give me real world uses like this app does. It does a great job repeating phrases then mending them into sentences and scenarios - absolutely amazing app.

Loving this app

I have Rosetta Stone, duolingo, you name it. This app blows them out of the water. It's useful, methodical, and even better, when I work on my iPad and then go to my phone, it updates my progress. This means I don't have to do the same section over and over. I've been trying to learn Russian for several years for my wife's family. It's finally happening, and the spelling practice is nailing it down even better. I'd recommend this to everyone! 5 stars, all day! Even though it's a yearly subscription, it's worth it. I've doesn't easily a thousand dollars together on other stuff, but this actually works!

Pretty good

Im learning Russian with Babel's help. I just finished beginner section 1 and 2 (about 40 lessons). So far it has been very helpful and I'm enjoying it quiet a bit. I look forward to the many lessons I have to follow. The bad: there is a reason it isn't more stars. The 'review' option isn't very useful. I just got another App for flashcards that I copy everything into. For a 5 star review, I would like to have flashcards that automatically update with each lesson that I can shuffle through whenever I want, over and over again.

Babel is ok

I am learning Russian. I have already done the Duolingo app and am now doing the babel app. Babel does a better job of explaining the grammar, but it's not a very good app. There isn't good repetition. It's tedious to use.

I love ❤️ Babbel!

I love ❤️ Babbel! I am a Russian myself and I am learning the language! My mom has lots of Russian friends so now I can speak to them clearly with no accident! Yay! Babbel!

Great content, slow interface but quite effective

This is the best app I’ve tried for learning Russian, certainly superior to Duolingo. (I recommend supplementing with Tinycards for reinforcement though) My main criticism is that the pace of questions is much slower than seems reasonable. Pronunciation exercises don’t start until you hit the speech bubble; they should auto-roll the first time. There are also big pauses between entering text answers, even beyond hearing them read aloud. No reason the next input can’t overlap with the previous reading. For anyone using multiple apps to learn, its frustrating to have to dawdle through familiar material. Some of the exercises are too easy, in particular the “sort these three words in order”. One suggested improvement: on an error, the app should highlight which characters I got wrong. It can be hard to see whether I screwed up the lesson at hand or just typo’ed a character.

Kind of hard

This started with hard lessons and not easy stuff like alphabet and sounds numbers too. I feel I haven’t learned much but still trying to figure it out.
