I expected nothing, but excellence when purchasing this app. I use this in tandem with my Yamaha mixer. This allows you to route audio in ways you never though were possible on iOS. The app is universal and it works flawlessly when you are using any of the AUFX. Audioshare is my go to librarian for all of my music and I honestly still use it as an input for looping my riffs on occasion. Audioshare is built into AUM and allows you to play tracks directly from one of the channel strips. It comes with on board effects which are similar to my Yamaha mg10xu. You can choose from 4 classes of eq to customize your own parametric filter. You have useful dynamics including saturation, peak limiter, gain trim, and hard clip. This allows you shape your signal flow easily. You get the fantastic option of stereo processing. The mid side balance and inverting phase functions is very useful for guitar. Obviously you can slot your own AU extensions, as well as any iaa effects that you own. You can link the outputs of you favorite app that allows sends which can be creatively routed to process sound with bus sends inside of the app. You can send midi clock and route very specific midi inside the settings just as you would on a Mac. Im impressed with the amount of thought and skill that went into this brilliant tool for iOS users. If you have ever ran a mixing board of any size you'll enjoy this masterpiece. It's as if a computer daw had sex with an analog mixer and had a baby. Audiobus is listed as the grandfather as it works together when you insert ports from audio bus. Well done and thanks for all the hard work. It has clearly payed off.

This app is worth 5 stars as-is, but it would be perfect if it could save the preset states of the AU and IAA apps.

Ok, first of all, this is a great app, I was using MiMix , a nice 8 channels Audiobus mixer, but this is leaps and bounds better, however, I don’t know I’d go as far to say this is essential, at least not for everyone, not in as far as Audioshare is essential for me, or Audiobus. If you’re someone who mainly multi tracks with an app like Cubasis or Auria Pro, you probably wouldn’t find yourself using this a lot, but thats not to say this would be completely useless, as you can record into this and it will record each part to a separate audio file that you can import into a Daw or any other audio app that imports audio. This will be a game changer for some, not so much for others.

Well thought out, I use it as a control/mixing center. The interface is elegant but does all I need for playing and exploring iOS music. The possibilities are amazing. Sound quality is outstanding. This developer is awesome!

This makes audio on the iPad work. Super flexible, works flawlessly with the equally essential audiobus and audioshare. If you need midi sequencing, then modstep makes an excellent partner to this.

This app makes your iPad into a whole music operating system. I can finally use every app I have in unison and create anything. Load your favorite apps, sync them and go. Intuitive, clean and efficient interface makes it easy. Just make sure to create folders and plan ahead so you can keep track of whatever you create, which will be a lot. This will make you budget for apps grow, since the possibilities will dawn on you quickly and you will want everything you see.

I’m very impressed with the AUM app and I’m really enjoying it on my iPad. I'm using it to take the audio input from a Komplete Audio 6 and it works flawlessly. There is one thing that seems to be missing and that is cross-fading between two input channels for ease of transitions in a live performance setting. Hopefully this feature is included in next version of the app. Great work to the developer!!!
As a guitarist this was my missing link.

I rarely write reviews but AUM solved all the routing and midi issues I was having. I primarily use Bias FX but found some of the fx like reverb to be lack luster. Enter IAA & convolution reverb apps. Problem is in bias you can't toggle IAA apps on and off with a midi foot controller. AUM solved it easily. It is now the core of my guitar rig!

The iOS music making ecosystem remains a place where you're constantly hooking apps together. AUM provides an elegant place for that both for audio and MIDI. Being able to simultaneously record perfectly cut loops from multiple synths is a beautiful thing. The GUI is attractive and the workflow is fast.
