Transformative

This app completely transformed and expanded my mystic making process. I've used it for virtually every track I've made in the last few years. It's my main host - I use it for multi-track recording of instruments/drum machines through various chains of effects and then transfer everything to desktop to hack it all up and arrange. The perfect solution for hosting plugins/instruments and recording on iOS.

OMG! 10 STARS!

Update: In the last several updates I’ve started experiencing a problem where when an instrument is being recorded using AUM, and the instrument app crashes, AUM flushes what has been recorded before the instrument app crashed losing everything. It should keep what has been recorded up till the instrument app crashed. Minus one star. ———- This is Oxygen to my music creation! How did I live without AUM?! I agree with everybody's posts. And wow, using the buses, what incredible flexibility! Then using Subgroups and FX sends splitting the signal! Ha, I sort of feel like a kid in a toy store. Right now I have Sparkle, Noatikl 3, Reactable and Soundscaper channels all routing to Bus A. The fifth channel inputs Bus A and has their Parametric EQ, Aux:Dub FX and Final Touch nodes on it (and I've not touched MIDI yet even!). Then I added a sixth channel with a three minute recording off of the output of Channel 5. Three plus hours later, and a sore back, I am still tweaking all this. When I bought Apple's first iPad I never dreamt I'd be doing things like this and this complexity of soundscapes too! And to think, headphones and my iPad and this whole show is in the road. LOL Wow! All I can say is WoW! Too bad my iPad Air 1G doesn't really multitask (Apple can call it what they like but on the Air 1G it's just task swapping with the pull over instead of using a four-finger swipe or the double-press of the home button) as I could have read the PDF user guide I made while using AUM.

The Best There Is

You can try others, but this is where you want to be if you are running any type of mobile rig. I found my happiness with this app, my instrument apps, an Novation Audiohub 2x4, a korg nanoKontrol2, and any keystation you’d like. I map different apps to different faders, and any parameter i want to. What makes this app so powerful is the fact that I can map any control value or anything via usb midi. And it just works. So good. Thank you for an amazing app! Keep up the great work! Only thing I wish was different was that I could have landscape and be able to zoom out to get some visible reference to when I control values on my interface. But it works great the way I have it too. ????

Great mixer

Is it possible to add midi file support ?

Well done.

Very well executed Swiss Army knife of almost every possible routing option you could ever need or imagine. With IAA this app practically replaces audiobus for me. AUM would also replace many other apps if the clip launcher-style audio file player were more expounded upon. First, when recording a new clip (into Audioshare) the record quantize is spot-on - it starts recording at the beginning of the next bar - but to end recording, it stops as soon as you hit the record button making it a hassle to have to go into Audioshare and trim, otherwise the sync doesn't match up (there is audible rushing/dragging). Also, the ability to load more than one clip into a track and launch accordingly would make this the end-all iOS music app for me. Ooo, ooo, one more. If I could record the clip directly onto the track without having to navigate a menu to find it in Audioshare.. *queue Hallelujah Chorus* - Ableton for iOS in the name of Jesus!! Amen. I'm sure many glorious and wonderful improvements await this app. Very thankful! Cheers

AUM is a Dream Come True

AUM has successfully removed every roadblock I have ever experienced with music production on iOS.

Yes, it is great!

Review of version 1, with the first update already in the works. But heck, this app is great the way it is, tho fixes and updates are always welcome. AUM is lightweight, flexible and easy to use. It's really the new "must have" app for iOS music makers.

Sooooo good

I've tried thousands of music apps and programs over 20 years and this is phenomenal. There are a lot of fun iOS apps and some "serious," this is a rare hybrid of both with a slew of creative potential. I just typed up a long in detail review from my iPad that was cleared when the App Store asked for my login again. At some point I'll come back again and do that because the developer deserves it. He continually removes friction and breaths new life into iOS.

Stop reading this and buy this

This is probably the best thing to come out since audiobus, while you're at it, pick that up too. It links everything you have in a convenient, intuitive package. Audio units, inter app audio, midi even audiobus, hell you can route it back to itself with audiobus. The interface is clean and elegant, it makes you feel like this it what iOS music making should've been since its inception. In short, if its on sale, buy it NOW, if its full price, buy it anyway! Just buy it if you've ever been serious about iOS music making.
