The best guitar FX app on IOS

Fidel Assthrow

I know this is geared toward modular synthesis, but you can build anything with this app. I have an old Maestro Echoplex tape delay that I'm always trying to replace with a more convenient pedal. All pedals out there are lacking in one degree or another but none of them replicate the distortion when you overload the input by leaning heavy on a volume pedal. Well, I was finally able to create that effect with Audulus. You can mix any sound to any other sound have it all controlled with a volume envelope. Distortions in Audulus sound as good as Bias FX and are far more flexible. All the basics are there to build any type of modulation, delay, reverb, way pedal, etc. The only thing it's lacking for guitar is built-in guitar amp/cab modeling. I'm confident you CAN pull it off with Audulus if you know enough about how to get that sound. I use AUM to route Audulus to Bias amps and control it all with MidiDesigner. It's the best multi-FX unit I've had, completely customizable to my liking.

Infinite possibilities

I am new to the whole mod synth stuff, but this is so interesting and fun. I am already enjoying it, even tho I am lost 80% of the time, I am still having fun learning and just seeing what happens. Extremely happy!

Best Music-Creative App on iOS!

This has to be one of my all time favorite apps ever! If you want to see what others are doing with this, go check out the Audulus forums. It’s a treasure trove of amazing patches available for anyone to download. Even if you like to “roll your own” modules, you should still head over and see what the community can offer. You may be surprised to see what the collective has to offer as far as streamlining and fine tuning. Love it!

First principles approach to synthesis

I can’t imagine a better way to learn and understand modular synthesis than with Audulus. You get to work with the fundamental “atoms” of synthesis, building up to reusable “molecules”, and there’s an amazing community building cool new things all the time, and helping each other. I now see other synths differently - so often it’s “oh, that’s just X in Audulus, with skeuomorphic graphics to make it look more substantial.” Audulus gets right to the essence of what’s going on, with no superfluous frills to distract.

Works great!

Update: Bugs were fixed in recent update. Thanks! Can't wait to integrate this with my hardware modular synth gear. ---- Just updated to this version from the old. When browsing the node and module library after trying to create a new node, it randomly crashes the app. I'm on iPad Air with newest iOS version. Disappointed because it looks fabulous and seems to work sometimes, but the bugs are super irritating when your in the moment creating. I'll update my review and rating if the bugs are fixed.

Fantastic learning tool and well-supported

I've had Audulus since early 2013 and it should be considered "Legendary" in the iOS synth world. Without a doubt, the best tool to learn and build synthesis engines. It certainly isn't your run-of-the-mill canned synthesizer (you must do a little work to make it go "beep"), but once you've learned some of the basics, the capability depth is unlimited. Audulus is well supported (check out the forum discussions, tutorials, and recorded live streams) and the developers and user-community are more than happy to answer any questions. You won't be disappointed.

Super powerful!

Audulus can do anything. It’s the most enjoyable synthesizer I’ve used and feels leaps and bounds better than other virtual modulars. Once you learn the workflow, it’s immensely rewarding to create your own modules and combine them to create your own synthesizers. Highly recommend!

Most comprehensive visual UI for synthesis on iOS. Period.

Infinitebreakfast

I do not even use this for signal processing like I’m sure it was intended for. I use this app with my stienberg UR 44, eminent chorus is my main stay. The lush sounding chorus and delays that this app generates are far superior to the in house VST that come with any DAW. This app is beautifully designed, any questions have always been answered by the app creators themselves and they are too eager to share their knowledge of signal flow with the layman. Once this app allows for the importing of audio this app will effectively become a staple part of my workflow until my very last breathe. Also purchased the desktop version when it was 29.99 returned it because I thought it was too expensive having also purchased the iOS app. After two years I will be re purchasing at 49.99. Worth every penny.

Really love this!

The ability to create so many wonderful synths and experiment with audio is wonderful.

Amazing

This is an amazing app, I love love love loveeee it! I love the YouTube turuoriasls that help me when I’m unsure on what to do. It’s really simple but also super easy to get lost into. The template is really amazing and works really smoothly. My only suggestion is that they add an option to edit the color of the LED -Tyler
