Missing Basic Features
Malebolgia

The app does work... aside from that it’s missing a lot of features that it’s competitors have: 1. Home panel showing all notifications. Having to scroll up & down to click on each notification is not a good customer experience. 2. No setting to automatically mute yourself when calling into a meeting (think public transportation or kids in the background). 3. When sending direct messages the app doesn’t recognize alias/full email address. Instead you MUST enter first and last name. 4. Cannot search across all previous messages, individual messages, all channels, or a single channel. 5. Cannot export conversations or select more than one correspondence. Meaning you need to take a screenshot if you want to share the conversation. 6. No option to setup time period to not be disturbed by Chime app. 7. No support for animated GIFs 8. Notifications are displayed on lock screen (good), but after you login into phone and swipe down from the top screen there’s nothing. Very inconsistent behavior for an iOS app.

Pronounced screen flickering
RyantheRed

On iOS the screen flickers to black repeatedly and unexpectedly making the app and other apps unusable while in conference MacOS app unaffected

Where’s the Apple watch connection????
honda3g

Hello Amazon- So far I really like amazon chime and it works very smooth! You’re missing one thing tho. Apple Watch connection??? Why haven’t you connected this to the Apple Watch yet? Add this and it will be much easier while I’m on the go to meetings. Please add and then I’ll have no choice but to give you 5 Stars. Thanks! Please add the Apple Watch and this will be a winner!

Support is nonexistent
DilRyeMaster

Wow, I can’t find how to get REAL help or make a feature request or anything. I even work at the big A and even the internal sites just take you to that “community board” where you can’t create a post (non-responsive) unless you sign in but it refuses my credentials. No point of contacts, no accountability. Easy peezy for them.

What is this app doing in the background?
Timinater

When I look at my battery management, Amazon chime spends a LOT of time “in the background”, which can take a lot of battery. So why is this app doing so much in the background and what is it doing? I don't have background app refresh turned on...

Neat

Now in small amounts of my free time still be at work

Lacking critical feature
Dimethicone

I can’t set different alert levels for desktop and phone apps. If I have to choose between no alerts on desktop and none on the phone I’m deleting the app.

Worst chat app ever

Worst chat app ever

Quick reply doesn’t work

Quick reply doesn’t work! I’ve responded to or rather thought I responded to many pings from my coworker and manager and come to find out nothing was sent. This is a big problem and needs to be fixed.

Does chatting really well
SaracenSam

Edit: Update to my original review. The main problems that I had in the past with the app was that it wasn’t optimized for the iPhone X and their were notification sync issues between the mobile phone app and PC notification. That has all been fixed and the issues have been resolved. I’ve never made a call through this app. My department relies on the chat/group chat feature primarily. Occasionally, I’ll still get some issues with the notifications but, for the most part, the app works really well and is super reliable from my experience.
