I don’t hike without it. My only suggestion would be to have a field or a notation to signify hikes that have a fee. Not all state park hikes are properly labeled as such so I get there and find a fee is required to use the trail

Add an update so users can put trail closed on MM/DD/YY due to rain or other reasons. Or provide a way for parks and rec dept to update too.

Besides this being illegal, it lists a private road and private property as a public hiking trail! Ever since COVID, the amount of people showing up is awful, not to mention them leaving trash behind while hiking!

I downloaded this app while on a trip to NC but now realize it’s great to use to discover trails where I live as well. Great U/X with the directions, others’ reviews and maps being my favorite features. Also love the trail ratings (family friendly, moderate etc)

Had to take a little detour because a moose was on the trail. No biggie still finished where I started.

But All Trails is my favorite by far. Great website too. A must-have for hikers and people who like to go outside and explore new places. Even for those who don’t love all the new tech baloney out there. And for those that do- get this app, find a trail, get outside, and put your phone away!

A couple years back I took on an ambitious 13 mile day hike by myself on beautiful sunny day in the Colorado Rockies. While I was familiar with the area, I had never done this specific route before. I had not brought a compass or my SpotX (dumb move) so I had AllTrails pulled up running in the background of my phone so I could refer to the GPS on the map. I had made it over the mountain pass and was making my way down the other side back down to treeline to discover the trail had been washed out. I didn’t think anything of it and started following the creek thinking it ‘ah it’s probably just down here.’ I walked about a half mile before I realized I wasn’t in the right place. I got completely turned around and had no idea which way led back up to where I came from and I had zero cell service. After a brief moment of panic, I remembered I had AllTrails was running so I pulled out my phone and slowly but surely followed the little blue dot as I moved through the woods. According to the map, it was close but I still couldn’t see it. After about 15 minutes, I heard voices and saw people walking above me. I had found the trail! I bushwacked up, took a deep breath and continued on my way. Thanks to AllTrails, I manage to right my path and get back to where I need to be. While it’s not accurate 100% of the time, it truly is a great resource.
