I love this app! My friends and I hike very often! it’s always fun to pick out our hikes here because we’re able to preview them before we arrive!

LOVE this app!! Yes, sometimes is not super accurate in terms of trail description — but the difference is not that big. I use on every hike and I’m very happy with it!! ?

App draws tons of new traffic to trail systems and doesn’t provide information to users about when to not use trails, such as when wet or muddy, causing significant damage. This takes advantage of the volunteers who build and maintain the trails in many areas for free, so the owners of this app can make money. Terrible and unethical.
Love it but unstable

I use AllTrails for all my hiking, backpacking and snowshoeing. It’s fantastic overall. The only complaint I have is with instability. When I’m recording, if I use my camera for video, it tends to stop my recording. And oftentimes when I’m using a trail map frequently during a route I am unfamiliar with, it’ll go back to the AllTrails home page instead of the map I was just using! Very frustrating. I’ve learned to work around these by using MapMyRun to record my actual progress, and to text myself the link to the trail I’m doing so I can always get back to it quickly. Now that I think about it, these problems could really be two stars off my rating but overall like I said I do enjoy using it. So four stars for me.
