I flew one of the first ever approved LAANC flights with AirMap and have been using them ever since. You can get approval in seconds most of the time.

Last week I was arguing with a gentleman claiming to be a Federal Agent. Glad I wasn’t flying at the time. He claimed the Spring Hill area of South Charleston, West Virginia is a Class C Airspace. I told him according to B4UFLY, it is a Class G Airspace. He Refused to look at my B4UFLY app and insisted I download and use AirMap and he showed me on his phone where AirMap showed the Spring Hill area is a Class C Airspace. After I got home I was looking at AirMap and found the flaw. When you open AirMap the screen shows the LAANC circle for Yeager Airport which is 6 miles away. I’m a few blocks away from Thomas Hospital in Spring Hill putting me about one mile away from the edge of the LAANC circle. AirMap shows that I’m in Class C Airspace. Now, if you zoom in on where I’m actually at so that the LAANC circle is no longer showing on the screen the triangle changes from yellow to green and the airspace advisories disappear. I have an iPhone XR with iOS 14.7.1 and an iPad 4 Mini with iOS 14.7.1 both doing the same thing. I just updated to your most recent software and both devices still have the same error. The Federal Agent has an Android phone. I have no idea which android or operating system he has. I saw the Federal Agent again today. Today he was in a uniform and wearing a badge. Sorry, I wasn’t close enough to read it. He says this is Class C Airspace and the error in your app is where the Class C Airspace advisories disappears when I zoom in. My issue is this Federal Agent is going to write tickets based on an error in your app. B4UFLY and ALOFT both show that I’m in Class G Airspace. I should also add that the Hospital I mentioned does not have a Helicopter pad. Please fix your app before someone gets arrested and files for damages.

Unable to submit flight plans due to app bugs

Currently the app won’t let me put in visibility and aircraft weight prior to submitting a flight plan. I’d look for other solutions if you’re new and looking for an app that’s reliable.

What’s the point of this app if you can’t use it to request LAANC authorization?

AirMap, on several occasions, has let me down on commercial drone shoots several times now with the message “AirMap is not able to process FAA Controlled Airspace Authorization request at this time. Please try again soon.” It used to happen every now and then but I’m going on 2 days with the same message every time. Don’t waste your time with it.

Seriously?! A map app with various colors and textures but no Legend on the map?! Completely useless to any new user!

Cannot login as I keep getting an error message login/sign up with Apple doesn’t work either. Clicked on “support”. Their form returns an error message. Between this and their politics. Save your time and move on.
