App works decent for what it is, but bear in mind AirMap is a proponent of far heavier regulations on airspace as they’ll make more money off of it.

You can’t zoom out to see more than a few miles at a time. Awful bugs make app useless.

On January 22, 2021, Airmap’s official Twitter account suggested taxation of flights and take off and landing fees! Be wary of this app! You are better off with Kittyhawk. Deleting this app!

AirMap has been lobbying for years against the better interests of the drone community at large. Their recent vocal support of user fees, including for take off and landing, was the last straw for me. There are other services I can use to get LAANC authorization.

Airmap is a terrible company that wants to line their pockets at your expense. They recently published tweets (they’ve since deleted due to negative feedback) where they were advocating for governments to change regulations to charge UAV operators a launching and landing fee. Of course they want to be the brokers in those exchanges to capture those fees.

Shame, it’s a decent app but they seem to stand against hobbyist. They are lobbying to monetize airspace, charge taken off and landing fees.

AirMap lobbies for local legislation to lock down the airspace for drones. They want to give all property owners the rights to the airspace above their property. Pilots would then need to gain permission to fly anywhere. Fortunately, AirMap has a solution to the problem they’re trying to create: they will be the middle-man to sell access to that airspace. Don’t use AirMap.
