Couldn’t Use Safari Without It

Muicman47631

I’ve been using this app for I don’t know how long. It’s made using Safari so much easier by blocking the annoying pop ups and ads that take up the small real estate on a phone screen. It’s super easy to block or unblock something, or if a webpage doesn’t load correctly because of the built in rules you can easily whitelist the website so there isn’t any blocking on that site. Above all else I trust them. I highly recommend.

Was great...

Until the latest update. No app force closes upon launch.

The best app for web surfing!

BretMThomas

Websites load faster and without all of the clutter on many of them! Using 1-Blocker with Safari saves your data bandwidth and your frustration with dealing with so many ads! It’s also easy to block just specific items of a page, or to whitelist certain items on pages where you want to see the comments or social media plugins. This is truly the one app I have NO PROBLEM paying for!! You owe it to yourself to download at least the free version, but the paid version is one you’ll never regret!!

Not fair

KaybeeBugfreak

I paid $10 as a one time fee to purchase the app. I use it on and off, and for a while I used something else. Now I came to download it again and I see it’s become a subscription app. What about the money I paid as a one time purchase fee? It’s not fair to charge money and then convert to a subscription model. I feel like I was ripped off.

1Blocker after updating to version 3.1.1 FAILs on iPhone & iPad

TinkerTots

REVIEW UPDATED on 2/19/2020 @ 08:56 EST: ================================== The Developer of this app (“1Blocker”) has quickly responded to the reviews (mine & others) complaining about version 3.1.1 crashing. He promptly fixed the problem in version 3.1.2. My opinion of 1Blocker is restored to a 5-star app! If more developers were as approachable and responsive as this one, then the software world would be a much better neighborhood (in “Mr. Rogers’ words). ========== END OF UPDATED REVIEW ====== ORIGINAL REVIEW ============= 1Blocker was working fine on my wife’s iOS devices(iPhone & iPad). Unfortunately, a few minutes ago, she updated to the latest version of 1Blocker (3.1.1) and now it FAILS to work properly on either of these devices. However, the symptoms of these failures are different. On her iPad, those failure symptoms are that 1Blocker’s graphical user interface (GUI) briefly appears and then quickly vanishes! No error message is displayed. Curiously, if you double-click on the iPad’s “home” button, you’ll see 1Blocker’s window; but, the minute you try to make it active it simply disappears again. On her iPhone, the failure symptoms are different. The GUI never gets displayed; instead, the message appears that this app is no longer shared to you. Of course, this is nonsense since the app is indeed part of our Family purchase. The clincher is that I did not update my 1Blocker app to 3,1,1 on my iOS devices. So, of course, 1Blocker is still running fine on both my iPhone & iPad. Bottom-line: Do NOT upgrade to version 3.1.1 until the developer can resolve those failure symptoms. Tony

Disappointing

Rolfy28

I realize that not all adds or pop ups can be blocked, however I feel like this tool blocks 0 adds when using an app. I may have missed that in their disclosures.

Crash crash crash

The latest update does nothing but crash when trying to open. Update: it’s fixed now.

Great App

Great app. Sometimes ads get through but for the most part it’s perfect. Thanks!

You get what you pay for!

I switched from a "free" ad blocker a while ago, and deliberately waited a while to fill out a review. My impression of this product has remained strongly favorable from the beginning. In the digital world, as anywhere, anything you think is free will cost you in some other way. This product delivers what it promises, performs well, and is well-supported. Do yourself a favor and open your wallet. With the amount of time we spend using our devices, paying for better performance and privacy...digital hygiene...makes sense. It is also easy for a non-digital native to use and understand. Well done!
