Yet another rug pulled out from under paying customers

1Blocker X was great. Now? My paid-for application (receipt on hand in my email archives) is being considered the “free” version and suddenly I’m expected to subscribe to yet another service. “But you can have a year trial for free!” No. I paid for an application that has now had its feature set reduced to a subset of what I previously had access to. I paid for an application with the expectation it would continue to function as well or better than it had on the day of purchase, indefinitely. “We’re indie devs!” Great, that’s no excuse. I bought an application, I didn’t subscribe to your Patreon. I too write software as my day job, but at least I have the integrity to hold up my end of the bargain if my customers had been promised a certain amount of functionality. This sort of behavior among developers is just as bad as the ads your app is not filtering anymore.
Paid decent app turned into subscription crippleware

I have been a paying supporter since 2015, had no issue paying for the new version in 2018, and would have happily continued with paid upgrades! But as I just installed it on a new device, I find there is no “Restore Purchase” option anywhere, and instead this has been turned into yet another endless-payments “freemium” piece of crippleware! So I think: but it works on my other devices, but then I see that all filters but one have also been disabled, automatically turning my PAID app (multiple times) into this junk without my consent. Holding your customers to a never-ending monthly ransom that can be altered on a whim, whether it’s price or functionality is absolutely not an option. As this change has already proven that you cannot be trusted. Calling it “Premium” just adds to the insult. If you want constant payments for constant filter updates (which I’m not interested in), maybe, but disabling existing paid functionality deserves a ZERO Star rating. But the cherry on this {bleep}pie is the unwanted pop-up in my (ex) paid app ASKING ME to give you this review.

Works FANTASTIC. No annoying pop ups or in video ads. You get one option free (I use Adblock) with the rest optional through a yearly or monthly subscribtion. Get it. It’s worth paying for the extra stuff too.

I really don’t think there’s anything I could want improved. This blocks more than any other app, has custom element blocking, custom rules, a great interface, and more. I love that it blocks online trackers. Most importantly, it’s not tracking me itself and respects my privacy.
One major issue...but an otherwise must-have app!

Was 5 stars...but downgrading to 4 stars until the Dev fixes the constant issue where 1Blocker hangs while refreshing the block rules periodically. This requires me to force-quit the app and manually disable & re-enable every category. Hardly a huge issue, but an annoyance. This happens on my 2018 iPad Pro, iPhone 11 Pro, and iPad Mini 5. UPDATE: Developer is awesome and responded to me very quickly. Increasing to 5 stars for the response time and will trust that this will be updated soon!

I’ve bought both the Legacy 1Blocker and the rebranded 1Blocker. I am willing to buy the “lifetime” for $12 price at this time Nov 19, 2019 but I want to know if you guys will implement an EOL on this “lifetime” plan? If an EOL is there what time frame can I expect to get from my purchase. Im trying to get clarification and fairness to not be blind sided as a consumer.
