Good concept – Hey! VINA - Meet New Friends Review

For the most part it’s a great app. I’d prefer a bit more control though. I like being able to select “show me Vinas between 40 and 50 years old,” but that doesn’t keep me from getting Heys from people in their 20’s. I have friends of all ages, organically, but I’m using the app to find friends of a certain similarity to me. Maybe an option “show my profile to people between...” I’d also like to be able to show/hide my profile to people in certain groups. As a Sober Sister, with plenty of drinking friends IRL, I’d like to be able to say “don’t show me Vinas in Happy Hour or Mary Janes groups” and “don’t show my profile to people in” those groups. Same with the geographical range - not just “show me Vinas within 25 miles, but also “only show me TO Vinas within 25 miles.” I know the spirit of Vina is to meet new people, but there are some boundaries that just make sense to have as options. I don’t care who drinks or smokes, I just don’t need another friend I can watch enjoy a glass of wine. In fact, I’d like to meet people who live without the option of even having a glass of wine. It’s an entirely different way of going through the world. I’m in the Sober Sisters group, but plenty of Vinas in that group are also in Happy Hour or are cocktail-not-coffee people. Maybe they don’t really know what it means? The option to hide certain groups would solve this also. A lot of other groups might not matter as much. But I’d bet people with cat allergies would like to hide/be hidden to cat owners, likewise people who don’t like dogs. Not everyone has to have the same interests, but a paid subscription should give the *option* of being more choosy. Perhaps I’m just old and uptight - which is exactly why I’d like to save the young and wild the time of checking me out and sending a Hey! ?
