A for Content. D for Everything Else. – PokerGO: Stream Poker TV Review

If this review were based on the quality of PokerGO content alone, five stars all the way. I love how you see completely unedited play (they do cut out the break time for the re-airs) . None of that condensed all in every hand stuff you see on TV. And the quality of the announcers are top shelf. As far as the app itself goes, one star at best. First, it’s poorly organized. That is to say, there is no organization. It would be really helpful, if the on demand streams were divided into their respective categories: WSOP, WPT, After Dark, Party Poker, 888, etc etc. .. in addition to the overall reverse chronological content dump - which is all there is now. Secondly, and most frustrating, as several have already pointed out, the app doesn’t remember where you stopped watching. Most of these streams are 6-9 hours long .. or longer. Not everyone (hardly anyone?) can watch beginning to end in one sitting. If you stop watching . and go do something silly .. like go to work.. when you go back to watch, the stream starts at the beginning. I have to write down the time code so I can scroll to the point where I stopped watching. There is a View History, but that doesn’t remember where you stop either. This is true if watching on the same platform, or switching platforms (eg, iPhone to AppleTV) . It a shame a service with this awesome content is handcuffed by such an inadequate app. I’ll stick with my subscription for the time being in hopes they improve the app overall. Again, for the poker enthusiast, the content is too good to skip. For now.
