Solid Play – Journey Review

I’ve played the PlayStation version of this game so I was really excited to see it released for mobile. This game can be so amazing if you give it a chance. Wear headphones and kick back and relax. This game doesn’t play well as a “pick it up when you have a spare 5 minutes” game. Cons: 1. The controls take a second to get used to, I was really keen on looking around and the controls seem struggle to keep up. PlayStation playthrough was easier for me to navigate. 2. Graphics while still stunning were somewhat Jagged. Almost as if it needs anti-aliasing enabled or something. There are no graphic adjustments which is a pity since my phone could run max settings for a game like this. Pros: 1. Amazing storyline! You really begin to understand the lore of the world you’ve been placed into. Without giving anything away I think it’s safe to say you experience the full spectrum of emotion that your character feels. 2. Challenging but relaxing! You can really feel peaceful in some areas of the game while totally being challenged to explore and solve puzzles. If you take the time to find all the symbols for your scarf it will take you longer to explore everything. 3. Co-op randomizes play! I loved running into other people playing the game and working along with them. This game arguably is not as satisfying at the end unless you have a buddy along the way. Really love the style of this kind of co-op! This game is worth $5 and it would be so much better if they made the graphics and controls better for mobile. If you’re on the fence go ahead and get the game now! Especially if you enjoyed the PlayStation game.
