App won’t open. It keeps saying it’s not installed – Apple Heart Study Review

I registered today for the study and installed the app on my iPhone 7 Plus and then my Apple Watch series 3. The app on the watch keeps pointing back to the app on the iPhone and it keeps saying the watch app is not installed.
