Terrible value! Needs work. – Timepage by Moleskine Studio Review

Updated review as of February 15, 2018: Well I have read the reason why the developers are charging for the app via subscription model, I still see it doesn’t how it justifies the price that they’re charging to the every day consumer. I can see them charging this price for businesses or corporations. It is most definitely not worth it. It’s sad because Timepage had some promise for a while. But there are other apps that are similar to this app but offer a once payment for life. And I would rather stick with that or until the app is truly superior in a way that I can’t find with other apps like 2Do or Things. Due 2 is another great app. It seems like Moleskine, overall, has a bad digital presence. Their own journaling app is a truly awful experience. And the alternative app - which is specific only to their hardware for digital journaling - is another terrible experience definitely not worth the price. The developers should really rethink what they are offering, allow different pricing options for consumers and re-price accordingly. I would rather provide constructive feedback because it seems like they really went through a lot of hard work for a product they feel is worth it. And from where I’m standing, this doesn’t look like it would be sustainable business model. Apple management allow for this type of pricing but some are openly skeptical of how successful it will be for many types of apps. Old review: Issues with latest update (1-31-17)... It looks like the latest update broke Apple Watch functionality on Watch faces. I'm not seeing any Watch complications on my Apple Watch with your app. I was using the Modular Watch face and other Watch faces and not seeing Timepage from the list of options to choose from when selecting what complication I want to choose for that Watch face. I did delete the Watch app and reinstalled it. I also removed the number of complications I had in Settings and that did not help. Were complications removed? Overall, for the app... I like that they continue to use 3D/Force Touch. I strongly wish they would fully integrate with iOS 10 (i.e.- use "Hey Siri"/SiriKit, integration with iMessage, better watchOS 3 support, Speech Recognition, Scribble text entry on Apple Watch). I wish you could make a diary entry and link it to your Moleskine journal based on calendar events. Or better yet, have the app be journal-agnostic and allow for follow ups into Day One journal. I do not like the fact that location services are being used too frequently. I'm no expert but it seems the developers could've designed/coded the app to use Geofencing or a better method to save on battery. The Apple Watch portion really needs work. It's pretty. But the complications aren't innovative. Why not have complications that show how many minutes until you need to leave for an appointment or until your next one will begin. Moleskine is usually known for its beauty. And this app is a decent attempt. There is no big "Wow" effects except that I love the Daily Briefing and the follow up option (when those functions work). You would think Moleskine would have some sort of "reminder" or "to-do" list. You'd also think they would have a real journal or diary format like their paper products that folks seek out. But not so...for now. The customer service is poor. When they respond, they are sometimes courteous but consistently less than helpful. I noticed they released a separate iPad app. This is a separate app and an added price. No way! Make a reminder and real journal/diary format (like Day One) and allow users to try out these add-on features and then charge a one-time fee. But a separate charge for the same app on iPad when Moleskine can't get their product to work correctly on iPhone and Apple Watch is awful and poor execution. I hope they re-think this. Moleskine, what are you doing?
