Great app – Timepage by Moleskine Studio Review

A new kind of calendar app that is simple, clean, and easy to use. Unlike most calendar apps Timepage is beautifully designed and has great functionality. With various animation that follows that functionality. You can view all windows just swiping to the right or left, leaving very little room for confusion. Inputting events is even easier, also you can put the location in one of the widgets (holding down or "force touch" ) it will show you the map with an approximation on time to get there, and displays weather conditions all at the same time. If you have iCal or ios Calendar you can simply import your events simply by going to the main menu > Preference > calendar and it will import everything for you. Not only does it do you ios apps, but also email calendar as well (might need your specific email app installed first). As a college student, I think it's a great app to have since it is extremely user-friendly and appeals more to younger crowds. Although, it's a great app that consistently needs an update (around three-to-five weeks), which means there is always something getting fixed. Usually, when a bug is fixed, a new one arises elsewhere. I originally had the free trial version which was working fine, until I got on there monthly/yearly subscription ($1.00/month for a year). The first issue was that the location widget was not as accurate as the free version. I occasionally end up in Tampa or somewhere in California using the full version. Another issue was that it wouldn't notify me about specific events I set up to be reminded. I don't know if that issue resides in iPhone volume button being on or silent because usually my alarms still go off with the button in silent mode as long as the volume is up. Furthermore, on the "day" page (where it only shows days consecutively descending) it can be hard to identify the day you are on because there is only a thin bar (white) that identifies it, along with the number highlighted in the same theme as the days. It just doesn't seem to pop out at me which can be inefficient in the sense that it's easy to get lost. It also doesn't reset if you leave the app or swipe any direction, you literally have to close that app to reset the days and calendar back to their original day. On the other hand, I think Moleskine did a great job designing Timepage. It can act up and be a little slow sometimes but I think it great a new calendar that easier than most to understand and very fluid with its app animation. It is not your average calendar app icon either, which usually consists of a letter or number on the icon to indicate date and day. This usually could be a deciding factor for some users. If you are pretty good about organizing your apps then this isn't much of a problem. The icon of the app simply blends in with everything else. It's not 'dynamic' like iPhones Calendar where the day changes. Some people like that, and some don't care as long is it functions better. Overall, I really enjoy this app and give it five stars.
