GIVE US APPLE CARPLAY PLZ – Lexus Enform App Suite 2.0 Review

12/21/17: I have 2018 NX 300 and use an iPhone X. This app works when it wants to, and it appears to be a connectivity issue as it continually searches for connectivity whether it be Bluetooth or USB. Then it gives me an error that “Entune” cannot connect. When it works, I can’t complain about this complimentary service and I would give it a 4/5 with minus one due to awful Scout Navigation. But due to constant connectivity issues, this app currently is a 1/5 or less simply because I am unable to use it. Allowing support for Waze, and Spotify would be great. I hope there is an update soon. 12/28/17 Update: I was having issues with connectivity. I deleted all my personal information for the Lexus' enform infotainment system, deleted Enform 2.0 from the iPhone and removed Lexus from the Bluetooth screen. Rebooted my phone, downloaded the app and set up the phone on the car as new. Now the app works well. The only issue is when you plug the phone into the USB it ask if you want advanced features which if you select yes it leads to the problems mentioned in my initial review. For now, a rating of 4/5 because all the apps are doing what they are supposed to. 01/05/2018 Update: The app is having unstable connectivity issues again each time I use enhanced mode for Scout (it messes up connectivity for all apps). I have uninstall the suit and scout, re-download the apps and restart the car to get the suit to work (without enhanced mode). For that reason, my rating is going down for this app until there is full iPhone X support. Rating 3/5. An update is needed ASAP to fix these connectivity issues. 01/18/2018: the Lexus suit does what it supposed to, and cause of all the connectivity issues stems from Scout GPS link due to poor compatibility with iOS 11.2 (know issue). Lexus/Toyota needs to work With scout to have this problem fixed otherwise iPhone user are being promised a service that does not work to its fullest potential. Other than that the actual feature of this app works as it supposed to. Scout is really messing up this app with connectivity issues. I genuinely believe that Toyota should provide us options such as CARPLAY capability or even WAZE. For a company so huge like Toyota and Lexus to put out an app that is subpar is inexcusable and word gets out like wildfire. If they plan to attract young professionals, then changes are needed and soon starting with this generation. No one will buy a car with this app knowing they are not getting what is advertised. GIVE US CARPLAY and that will boost your sales.
