Problems with new Gilt Combo App – Gilt - Shop Designer Sales Review

During today’s New Year’s Day 20% off promotion, there was an error message whenever I selected an offer saying there was a network error. I later found by experimentation that even though my customer page was displaying Chicago there was a default in the settings for National. Once Chicago was manually selected to override National, the Gilt City page worked fine. As a result, I and I’m sure hundreds of others we’re not able to take advantage of the United Airlines extra miles promotion for the day or the 20 percent off Gilt City promotion. I’m fine with marketing wanting all customers to land on the Gilt page to increase sales for that page but I’m frustrated that the Gilt City page is not working properly without manual intervention. I’m not sure why nor am I comfortable with Gilt needing to run diagnostics on my iPad. The problem is not my iPad; the problem is something in the app programming. Also when a major app change is made, please tell us why and what’s changed. Gilt, if I find that anything personal has been tampered with due to the diagnostics test, there will obviously be a lawsuit.
