downgraded compared to previous version – ExoGears2: Robots Combat Arena Review

Recent changes to the game have ruined it for me. I've given it a few days to be sure but I've concluded that the game is ruined. Crates now have timers attached to them so more iap opportunities for the devs now -_- Lag also seems to be worse as many of my abilities never register hits even if my target is stunned. The biggest problem is the butchering of the game's movement system. Dashing used to be used as a movement option meant for sudden movements which could be used to dodge attacks, pop behind out of or behind cover, or punish predictable actions. Now, the only use for dashing is to abuse invincibility frames. You pretty much just twitch in place as it covers so little distance that walking would be faster. If you want to bait your opponent into using an ability that would lock them in place, the only way you can take advantage of that is by tanking the hit with the invincibility frames from your "dash" and countering with maybe 1 shot from your gun before your target starts moving again. Blading is also ruined as the only way to get close is to just endlessly walk forward and tank hits until your opponent hits a wall or is dumb enough to let you walk close enough to hit them first. Compared to before it seems easier to beat runners but solely because of how slow everything had become. Gunners can't dash away and create distance once they back into a wall while bladers are stuck walking until their target hits a wall. Its slow and boring compared to the old frantic chases we used to have. The only positive change was that guns have been overall nerfed damage wise. Furthermore, blading duels have devolved into trading matches since dashing isn't even strong enough to escape blade range from point blank. Why should i be punished for blading someone by being unable to escape when they try to blade back. Before i could dash in and out of blading range punishing my opponents wiffed swings but now, the only reliable way to get an edge in a blading duel is to use multiple dashes and hope your opponent's blade won't catch you in between the invincibility frames or block hits and hope you can get your swing out first when their combo finishes! If this is how you wanted to solve the defensive play issue then i think this is a horrible way to go about it. Literally everything was nerfed and the game has devolved into a walking simulator. The problem with defensive play was that moving backwards was faster than moving fowards and dashes could be used too soon after lowering a gun or after a previous dash. Guns also could be used with no energy while swords required more than half of a full energy bar to unleash a full combo even though many guns had higher dps than swords. I do not think butchering the game's speed was the right way to address the runner problem.
