Flawed Metric! – Cell Phone Coverage Map Review
Doesn't accurately represent signal strength and here's why. They have a strong bias towards measuring signal outdoors when majority of us spend much of our time indoors. This makes carrier with high frequency band such as T-Mobile appear to have unrealistically good coverage. High frequency signals can't penetrate walls. So take the top restaurants in a city like Seattle. The coverage map will show excellent coverage when in reality you get no data! Unless you're a truck or bus driver and you're always on the road you're not going to get great coverage from a carrier like T-Mobile. Until this app focuses on indoor coverage (where most people will spend their time) it's pretty useless.
Update: Switched to Sprint. This coverage map is incorrect more than 50% of the time with my iPhone X. I don’t get service where this app tells me I should with the latest phone! Have to wonder if they’re independent, unbiased, and trustworthy as they once were. Wonder if money corrupted their mission.
