“I totally missed this!” – Slack Review

“AGH! I didn’t see this and missed your message.” I would bet that if you searched my teams most common phrases in our chats, something like the above would be the most recurring sentiment. That’s because slack, one of the most incredible communication tools for teams, has one ridiculous flaw. One that apparently they see as a feature. You see, when you start using Slack on your desktop and on your phone, it tells you in a message that it will only send it to one of these so you are not bombarded with messages when you’re sitting at your computer. That’s a nice idea! Unfortunately, it doesn’t work in practice. The result is that you will be away from your computer for hours for instants, come back and realize that you’ve missed every single message over the last few hours. There is no way to change this and just say notify me on all my devices, which is what I would do. Slack! Please fix this!
