We have always played, winning bidder must take 20 and other two players must take 15. 5-card widow can prompt a lot of very risky bidding. A 2-card widow restrains that a bit. I have played both ways, so an option would be nice. Thanks to developer for great improvements. Without a doubt, this is the best Pinochle version on the market.
