Professional, functional and modern, but missing flashcard features. – wishoTouch Japanese dictionary Review
wishoTouch is a very usable Japanese dictionary with a good UI, OCR and handwriting recognition features, and it plays well with iOS; including split-view multitasking, Today widget, and an extension that lets you look up kanji from any other app.
It does seem to be missing some built-in lists for kanji organized by grade and JLPT level, and a way to test myself in those (such as with flashcards). The lack of these requires me to turn to other apps, which is alright; wishoTouch does well what it focuses on.
Some requests/observations:
• When searching for "japanese" or "kanji" in the App Store, wishoTouch does not appear very high on the list of results. You may want to see to that. :)
• Some extra functionality in the Today widget would be nice.
• Some extra information in Japanese for each kanji, such as the native Japanese terms for categorizing nouns/verbs/etc. would be nice.
Lastly, thank you very much for making and updating this!
