Mixed Bag – Cell Phone Coverage Map Review

The most recent release does not accurately record call quality. Particularly for networks like Sprint which uses an eCSFB handover to bridge it's LTE (data) bands and its calling network (CDMA 1x). The app inaccurately records the LTE signal strength (which has a far less reach in terms of coverage regardless of band class and carrier) and labels it as call quality on the hexes. The nice thing about the old version was that you were able to map just the call quality (by shutting off LTE on your device, this also applies to VZW, T-Mo, and AT&T). It also had minimal impact on the data plan. Sprints call quality map is inaccurate on root metrics because of this issue. It reaches greater distances, and penetrates walls a lot better (CDMA 800) than this app reports. Please bring back the call quality measurement function. Update: the new version that has "bug fixes and updates for iOS 9" no longer reports properly. You can't see the results of your tests on the map anymore. Rootmetrics what is going on? Update: See above. It seems as if every other update is functional. Get it together!
