Not great – Clorox Pool Review

I conducted 7 tests in a balanced spa and compared the results to my Poolmaster 5-way test kit. 1. The app doesn't support a spa with less than 1000 gallons for the treatment plan - however, the strips should be able to test any volume of water. 2. The results are inaccurate and vary depending on lighting and exposure of camera. I controlled for this by using a bathroom light. The difference between strips and chemical based testing were significant, especially with regard to chlorine (recording 2x higher chlorine levels) and ph. 3. A manual read of strips showed they were more accurate than a phone scan. The fact of the matter is a phone scan of the strips depends on too many variables (like calibration of camera, exposure, lighting, etc.) to be useful or accurate. I gave it 2 stars for effort, design and ease of use. However, do not use app over manual reads at this time - chlorine margin of error can be dangerous.
