A Good Start But Needs Work – BBC Colouring: Doctor Who Review

This appears to be a digital recreation of the physical coloring book that's been around for awhile. The back cover of that book promises 45 images just like this app so I assume you get all of them here. I had two main issues with app. The first is that the pictures themselves are low resolution images that become blurry and pixelated as soon as you zoom in past the default setting. Other coloring apps I have tried use vector graphics so no matter how big you make the lines they still appear silky smooth. I wasn't expecting that level of polish but it was extremely disappointing to try to zoom in to a smaller area in one of the detailed pattern images and immediately have it look awful. The other issue is that the only choice you are given for coloring is to pick a color and then tap on a white space and have it instantly fill the whole space with that color. Part of the reason I enjoy coloring is actually getting to move the pencil or pen and slowly fill in the space and add detail and shading. The is just like using the paint bucket tool in MS Paint and you can get a whole picture done in just a few minutes.
