Another unfortunate case of pay to win – Jewel Quest: Best Match 3 Games Review

So, after finally completing the last non-premium level, I am ready to write my review. If it did not have IAP, I could see myself giving this game up to four stars. But, the constant reminders, that you can and are able to so, are frustrating. You can pay for virtually everything to help you complete a level, which takes away everything from the game itself, let alone the greed of the game publisher and the lack of care of the buyer. There is in-game money that you can buy with real money or earn by beating levels. With the in-game money you can buy power-ups or even permanent bonuses that you can choose to individually turn off. Some of them are almost necessary to complete a level, especially if trying to get the highest ranking (three stars) for a given level. The game crashes occasionally, you let it sit too long and go back to it, you may lose your progress for a given level. There have been many times where when I start the game, it starts me all the way back to the beginning, forcing a restart and everything is back to normal. There are lives, such that if you fail to complete a level you lose a life. One life is replenished every 30 minutes, but you only can have up to 4 at a time. You can increase that limit by one with a permanent power up, and additional one if you log in via Facebook. The lives are additional thing in the game which can be bought. It was fun, it was challenging, but the pay-to-win aspects killed the game for me.
