A decent start – Mage Wars Companion Review

So, this is a good start (I have version 1.11). There are a few things that I feel should really be added, however: 1. Filter and sort options when building a spellbook. I would like to be able to sort or filter by spell cost, spell level, and card type (attack, creature, etc). 2. When looking at a card, I wish that more information about the card was given, such as the expansion that it came in and how many copies were included in that expansion. I find myself adding a certain amount of cards to a deck, only to find out that limited copies came in that pack, so my deck is screwed up and I have to start over. 3. Unless I completely missed it, there is no way to see the actual mage cards to view their special abilities and such. This is a HUGE oversight, as these are some of the most important cards in the game, and spellbook creation is driven based almost exclusively on these abilities! If these things were added, this would probably be a five star app because, even though the tone of this review is negative, I can assure you that, besides the negatives I have highlighted here, the app is otherwise wonderful and quite beautiful. As it is, though, $4.99 is a lot to pay for what feels like a slightly incomplete app.
