Pretty good for first version

tophermay

This app is nice and has some good functionality. However, it is lacking in areas promised. There is no keyword search. You can search by title but not the keywords. There are also some errors in spellbook costing for novice spells. Overall a good app and I trust arcane wonders to get the few issues fixed.

Gorgeous app, but tweaks needed.

Snotwalker

The game tracker is a nice gem! No complaints there! However, the book building feature needs some tweaks: 1). Add a search filter option 2). Keyword search should access ALL text on the cards (subtype, traits, etc), and not just titles 3). It's too easy to accidentally remove cards from a book with a single tap while scrolling. Should require a double tap. 4). No way to view the actual cards in a book. Only titles of cards. If you click on a card on the book, it's removed. There should be an overview feature for this... Similar to how we now flip through a physical spell book. I'm hoping the developer makes some of these tweaks. If so, it's easily a 5 star!

Sweet app

Great app for mage wars players. The status tracker has a small error- when a player is one point from death the other player cant add damage without triggering the declare winner screen. Love the spellbook builder!

Not ready

SirRoke

Poorly designed, overpriced, and barely working. Search doesn't search all card text. No filtering to sort cards by types. Instead of using usual finger zoom to see cards, uses unintuitive hold finger in right spot. Tapping doesn't bring card forward but flashes (meaning it appears to add it to your deck though it doesn't tell you that. The list of issues goes on but the bottom line is that it really isn't very useful and is expensive.

As others have said

Beautiful art, well conceived tracker, but the main purpose I purchased for, the builder, needs help.

It’s a Great Start

I'm definitely excited about this app and hope it's capabilities expand. It looks great on an iPad with a retina screen. One thing I do want to point out though is that a few of the cards are blurry, for example is Temple is Asyra. I'm guessing this can be quickly fixed in an update.

A decent start

mage wars companion

So, this is a good start (I have version 1.11). There are a few things that I feel should really be added, however: 1. Filter and sort options when building a spellbook. I would like to be able to sort or filter by spell cost, spell level, and card type (attack, creature, etc). 2. When looking at a card, I wish that more information about the card was given, such as the expansion that it came in and how many copies were included in that expansion. I find myself adding a certain amount of cards to a deck, only to find out that limited copies came in that pack, so my deck is screwed up and I have to start over. 3. Unless I completely missed it, there is no way to see the actual mage cards to view their special abilities and such. This is a HUGE oversight, as these are some of the most important cards in the game, and spellbook creation is driven based almost exclusively on these abilities! If these things were added, this would probably be a five star app because, even though the tone of this review is negative, I can assure you that, besides the negatives I have highlighted here, the app is otherwise wonderful and quite beautiful. As it is, though, $4.99 is a lot to pay for what feels like a slightly incomplete app.

Updates?

Jobberslayer

Used to be a useful app. Now grossly out of date with no updates in sight. Don't waste your money.

Out of Date

Not up to date, I don't think it's ever been updated. Don't waste your time and money.
