Refreshingly Different – Little Cousins Review

The first thing I noticed upon beginning this game was the interesting artwork. It simply looks beautiful and unique, from the levels, to the characters, to the menus. Every part of the game is just cool to look at. The second thing I noticed was the difficulty and unique gameplay. Unlike some others have said, there is nothing wrong with the tap recognition. It does not need to be fixed. And the physics does indeed make sense, though it may take a few tries to figure it out. You are essentially controlling from 1-3 characters (at least up until level 5, which is where I am currently at) at the same time. And you need to use all of your characters, sending each on specific paths, in order to finish the level. This mechanic turns a simple scrolling screen tap-to-jump game into a difficult puzzler, which requires thought and speed to progress through. This is all very refreshing for a mobile game, and I'm delighted that it is difficult enough that I can say I am on level five and have had over 500 deaths so far in my attempt to get there. I had the good luck to download before the developer sadly slowed down the characters and decreased the difficulty of the game. I will not be updating because I love the challenge. If I may suggest to the developer: perhaps a normal mode and a beginner's mode should be added, to satisfy both the gamers who enjoy challenge and the people who want an easy game.
